Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

4T65E-HD missing 1st?

So I was on my way home from my first day of college, everything was great. I pulled out of the parking lot and the engine revved up to 4-5000 rpm like it was spinning on loose gravel or something even though I barely gave it any throttle. Once it grabbed second though it was fine.. It did the same thing again while I was pulling away from a red light just after. The trans was just rebuilt and has maybe 10,000 miles on it. I'm hoping this is just a solenoid or something of the sort.. Anyone have any ideas?

Did it actually skip first and go to second?, or just take a long time to engage to first? And when you were at a light, did it happen while leaving it in Drive?

Hmm. We had that issue with out impala which also has the 4t65e. It did it a few times, but hasn't done it since. I read it was either the boost valve in the valve body, or the input apply piston. Apparently the seal tends to leak, and fluid bypasses it. Then as pressure builds enough, it will force the valve/piston forward engaging first very suddenly. There's a long lip seal that is known as a 90% chance of fixing it. (If that's the issue.)

My first day of college is today, in an hour. Hope the same doesn't happen to me, lol.

Hmm alright.. Well off to the shop it will go then haha. Good luck today! Hopefully your luck will be better than mine..

Well since my knowledge of transmissions is very limited.. I dropped it off at the shop today and we'll see what they find..

They may not "find" anything if all they'll do is look for codes, even with an advanced scanner. They would have to take it for a test drive and experience it for them self to confirm it. Since it's a mechanical problem, they would have to open up the valve body, and look for scoring/seal wear in the areas I mentioned. Let us know what they say, I'm interested to know.

So apparently it's been acting fine ever since I dropped it off. The only thing they noticed was a bit of a studder between 2nd and 3rd. No issues with 1st. So they want $900 to replace all the solenoids and the valve body.. I told them i'll just take it home and drive it until it starts having consistant issues. Also it needs tie rod ends.. Does $800 for tie rod ends sound ridiculous to you guys?

my god.. 800 better come with more then jus tie rods.. or maybe im just that cheap? do them your self man.. hell ill come to you and do em for 100 haha
