Terrible analogy, but you're entitle to your opinion. Keep in mind, it's not practical for everyone to own a 2 door sports car. That's why there are rides like the STI, CTS-V, and the G8 GXP. Even exotics like Porsche see that the market is there for 4 door performance which is where the Panamera came from. IMO, an ugly car, but why else would Porsche switch from all 2 doors to including a 4 door? Because people want performance but need space.

However!!! I feel like alot of guys jumped down this guy's throat really fast. I've made my point, he even said before that he could see that.
 


I just like to see how people defend the straight fact that 4 dr cars were designed for performance purposes. That entertains me.
 


nobody said it was performance. neither the 2dr or 4dr is performance. hardly any difference, maybe barely some weight, so why not take more room and not have to scoot you seat up everytime someone wants to get in your hot rod grandprix

And you won't.

The car doesn't know it's a 4-door. The engine/trannie don't know it's a 4-door. The tires and pavement and your inner ear that feels G-forces doesn't know it's a 4-door.

And none of them care. I like 4-doors, always have, always will. That's just the way it is.

It's gotten a lot of attention for a pointless argument. Which I guess was the point of the OP.
 
Fact is if I am pulling up in my modded grand prix gtp I'm looking for performance at a decent price but anyone I pull up next to doesn't know that. So why would I want kids or groceries or any other crap in the back seat slowing me down?
 


Again I've never argued that the 4 drs slow you down. I am saying that 4 dr cars were not designed with performance in mind as the primary goal. The primary goal of a 4 dr is just that; that it has 4 drs and needs to carry around kids, grandparents or groceries. Lol. After that (for a 4 dr) comes performance.
 
Actually FYI I just bought my 2000 gtp bone stock one owner no rust a mo ago and am buying parts over the winter and will hit the street in spring. Would you like to make suggestions? Sounds like you have an opinion ;)
 
I all ready answered part of that in your other thread. Read the safely modding your 3800 thread and go from there.
 


In my opnion my car is a 4 door faimily car that is nice, comphy, and has room to spread out. I don't have to lean my seat ****in fowards to let people in and out, which ****in realy sux after a while owned a 2 door saturn sc2 and still own a Camaro and the only pasanger i have is my girl i don't and wont ride with more than one person because it's ****in sux and even passangers complain. Plus when i need to go fast i can smoke alott of cars on the road in a FOUR DOOR tell me my cars ugly

How is a 4 door not designed with performance in mind?

My 4 door has the same parts as your 2 door. Just a different shell.

The G8 is not a performance car either? I guess the BMW 3 and 7 series isn't either.
