3800 series 2 supercharged whine NOT NORMAL



Thats got to be a pulley of some kind or alternator bearing. As for the whine after the engine is off, Im not even sure where to start.
 
id agree , one of the pulley beabearings are toast. pull the belt off and spin the alt , waterpump , tension and idler pulley , making that much noise the bad one should be easy to find. also could be a/c compressor taking a dump , but more than likely one of the others.
 
he's bringing the car to me sometime this next week, and i will get the pleasure of looking into this more. its odd to me though that it whines after the engine shuts off.

first things first though, im taking the belts off
 
the noise also is only at idle, when your driving it goes away. the puzzling part is after the engine is shut down.
