i believe thats a shift solenoid or TCC solenoid, ive replaced all of these in my trans but can say 100% which one it is. its been a minute since i swapped it out.. and it goes in transmission under side pan.

its the side pan that u have to remove...on driver side of car under hood u can see where im talkin bout. not the easiest thing to do with out a lift.
 
Oh, well that was my saturday wasted :) lol. The side pan? That wouldn't be the huge circular unit attached to the side of the engine would it? Like the beginning of the transmission? Or is it more pan like? Also, would I have to drain the fluids again to get in there? Thanks for all the advice.
 
that would be it... has a decent sized sensor on it... not drain all fluids, but u will lose some... i think theres a writeup on it somewhere... wouldnt suggest trying to do it if ur not mechanically inclined.
 


Valve, TCC PWM SOL, this is what ACDelco tells me it is. Is this the same thing you thought it was? If not, still within the side pan? Could really do with having this car running by the end of the day. Thanks again
 
torque converter clutch sloenoid,1-2, 3-4 shift solenoids, pressure control solenoid are all in the side pan. on driver side.

Woot. Havent been back up there in awhile. We should get a group of locals going if there are enough. Hell even a couple of us working on our cars could be fun.
 
So got the side pan off, can't find the solenoid, anyone know where I can find a schematic, could anyone describe to me where I would find it?
