• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

very cool. Like matt said, some rockers would help give you a little more top end. And is it just me, or does the steering look like it could be tightened up some?

The wide angle lens makes it look like the upcoming turns are less than what they are, so the steering wheel motion looks exaggerated compared to the turns. Here's a link of the exact same run shot from outside the car, you can see the turns are more severe than the wide angle in-car video makes them look. YouTube - Scott and Andy Bville 7-10.wmv

Lock to Lock is two turns. I could put in a steering quickener, but we use it on the street quite a bit and that might make it a little touchy for normal road use. The weight to HP ratio is 5.5/1, I seem to run out of talent before I run out of speed so I probably won't be doing too much modding for more HP right away. When I start tracking the car vs. Solo events, the modding will probably start to happen!

I stayed up way too late reading the tech forums! Lots of great info here.

now thats a nice ride. any plans on big motor mods like a cam to really wake that bad boy up?

question: how loud and obnoxious is the exhaust being that these motors sound like trash?

I see. Well it's unanimous on these boards that the 3800 doesn't have alot of top end pull, maybe you'll find it'll help you be able to pull hard in high rpm's as well as low.

It is pretty loud if you put your foot in it. I have some baffles in the pipes, so it isn't too bad. No doubt it is ticket material if you floor it next to a cop. It does not have that great V8 AC cobra sound. Man, I like that big V8 sound.

A few of you have mentioned a drop off at top end. I have not seen that at all. It pulls HARD to 6K+. I didn't put this engine together. It was torn down and rebuilt by the original owner before getting dropped into the Stalker.

I just emailed the guy who put it together and asked if he modded the rocker/springs when he reassembled it. Hope to hear back soon. I have pushed it over 6K rpm and did not hear or feel any valve float, so maybe he did.

Is there anything that identifys rockers / springs as 'something other than stock' looking through the oil fill cap? I would take the valve covers off, but we run next weekend and I won't be able to pick up fresh gaskets / have time to do it until the weekend. Guess I should move that question to tech help before moving down that path too far.

I really appreciate the advice here. Great info. Scott
