3.8 building the fallen Cam questions

Ok, I’m not exactly the most mechanically inclined, but I have also did my far share of work on motors, LIM, And motor swaps. This is the first time I am really tearing in to a motor (1999 GTP) I tore down past the heads, Now in order to work on something I always want to know all about it. Anyways I have learned quite a bit (I think) Now back when I bought my First gtp I did the Normal 3.4 setup. Would be enough for me. I no longer believe that. He is what I’m thinking about to be my next build

- INTENSE x1 cam
- 3.25 pulley
- Reptile tune
- Speed daddy headers w/ 3 inch down pipe
-Down the road I would like to have a Intercooler, and Port the blower, Run a n* or ls1 tb,)
(yes I know the supporting mods, CAI,180t,104al,)

Now I was wondering about Valve springs and RR, I know with a cam there is no point in going with 1.9RR (or maybe you cant) But could I go with stock 1.6 RR? Would there be a point. What kind of valve springs do I need? I would really love to do an INTENSEx4 cam. What do I need to run it? (Reason I want it is the idle)
I know the car will eat the 4t65HD to breakfast after some miles, So I plan on going 5 speed when it fails and already have a 282 Gear tag setup. So that’s not to worry about.

ugh, i know you must think im a noob, But im not. i know what they say, But they also wanna sell there 4k$ package. i wanna know the real world. Like where i could get my heads ported to run that cam.

You very well could use 1.6 yella terra roller rockers. It would be better, though worth the money? I don't know. As far as springs go, I would go with 105#.

#105's aren't strong enough for that cam...your going to need AT LEAST #130's. You'll also need a double roller timing chain...then you'll have to get the crank gear machined to match the height of the stock gear when sitting side by side. You need the valve guides milled .100" and to benefit from that cam, ported heads and bigger valves...and a good tune.

Porting the Blower and LIM would be damn good to do, and not cost a whole lot either. With the rockers, you basically want to stay with the stock 1.6 ratio when you swap cams.

PS. If you get headers, you dont need a downpipe.
