3.6" Pulley

not as much as youd think. if a 3.5 = 3.4 in 04+ case then that's cool. 0.1" of pulley really doesn't make that much more/less boost.

no way that it took all that. the rockers id see, but not the intercooler. however, your car could be an exception to the rule just like everyone elses car.

I did the SSIC before the rockers. Now I'm thinking about throwing some more timing at it before moving to a 3.2

Way.

3.4" on a GenV = like a 3.2" on a GenIII...how you nots figure foolz

why is this guys? different pullies between the gen 3 and gen 5....i thought since the gen 5 is more effecient you could run a SMALLER pulley instead of a bigger...but i guess not..someone please explain

because it is more efficient it makes more boost per pulley. that makes you have to run bigger pulleys to stay away from knock.

whether it is a .1" or .2" difference between a genIII and genV, it really depends on the condition of the blower and the other valvetrain setup to determine boost. it is always going to be different.

it just seems backwards to me...i would think since it runs more effeciently it would allow you to run smaller pullies....but im not gonna argue...its been tried and it's what is known to be true...cant argue with that

but I DO understand where your coming from Bio...just seems backwards to me

Efficient means in this state that it is taking LESS power and LESS boost to make the same amount of power as an older...LESS efficient blower would...example...GenIII. Comparing all the outlets, inlets, blower displacement, rotor coating materials, and initial size of the rotors changes everything.

This might be a good comparison.

The 1st generation M62 supercharged 3800 Series I used a 2.9" pulley from the factory...made over 10psi...and only made like 200 or so horsepower.

The 3rd generation M90 supercharged 3800 Series II used a pulley NEARLY an inch larger in diameter and made 40 more horse...on half the boost.

The 5th generation M90 supercharged 3800 Series III used the same size pulley...and they were rated 20 horse more BUT...more prone to knock because of the fact that then GenV flows such better and is way less parasitic.
