• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

3.6 or 3.5

I'm having a hard time trying to choose. I think it might be possible to get away with a 3.5 but then again, I want opinions because my setup is a bit different than the typical "I want a smaller pulley on my stock gtp"

Basically I want to get a dyno tune (i might be stuck using hptuners) on a smaller pulley. Mods...

-L36 block
-1.9 roller rockers
-genV top swap
-pacesetters
-N* and Lq4 combo (open cone)
-Slp catback (not that it matters, just makes my mod list longer :p)

The car had 0.0* of knock (even going uphill at 35 in second gear, giving it half petal in 100* summer heat) on the stock pulley and plog/2.5" d/p combo. Now that I have headers...

If you post the "Safely Modding" thread by bluegtp91, I will personally come to your house, ring your doorbell and slap you across face with a large fish.

Its a toss up. I would personally try the 3.5 and back up to the 3.6 if I had to. I have a 3.5 for $35 to your door.

I saw that, pretty tempting since, zzp is out of them

oh yeah, im on my way to your house...:p

OK just send me a message if you want it. There was one other person that pmed me about it. He has not said if he wants it or not tho.

Read the Safely Modding Your 3800 Thread. And once your done...read it again...and how about a third time for your bunched panties :p

I say 3.6". Why? Because if your still running knock free after that you can screw with the timing and make it go stupid fast on a 3.6.

But that is just me :p

Ya, maybe if he orders one from you now he will likely get it next year lol :th_laugh-lol2:

I plan on giving one of his IC cores a try in the spring.
This 99prix guy must be new...read the "safely modding your 3800" thread by bluegtp91 then come back with any questions please :p

i would do a 3.5. a 3.6 is only going to be a little bit less boost. completely stock with an intake and downpipe you could probably tune a 3.5 to have no knock.
