3.5" pulley mods?

A friend of mine is selling some of his old pulleys. I was looking at his 3.5" for my car but I'm curious what mods you need to support it. Thanks to the phenomenal "safely modding your gtp" thread I know the needs of a 3.4", are they similar for a 3.5?

Yes 3.5 and 3.4 supporting mods are pretty much the same. Scan Scan Scan thats the only way to know for sure if your ok.

first check for KR. the less kr u have the less mods u have to do. If u have sum i would at least do a minimum CAI/FAI, 180 TSTAT, 1 temp range cooler plugs, U-bend delete, n run highest octane you can get/afford. and then scan for KR again. The more supporting mods the better though.

Coming from a guy that doesn't have enough mods for his own pulley size...take your own advice man.

exhaust mods or internal flow mods, or intercooler.

intake is going to cram more air in, you need to get the already hot air in there out.

Ok kind of a two part question off of this. I nearly purchased a wizair intake before I spied the thread at the top about cai vs. open cone. Would an open cone setup be ok instead of a cai to drop pulley sizes? And if so how do you setup the open cone? Just shove it on the TB run piping to the stock location? Apologies if this is a stupid question/answered somewhere else.

shorter the piping the better... but yea just get it close to TB and get IAT close to filter.

O really? n u know how? thats why i had 0 KR with a 3.5 pulley with them mods! so i dropped to a 3.4". now i have 1-2 KR. but plan on getting more mods soon to get rid of it. But i guess u r "all Knowing". :th_nanana:

So...you drop a pulley knowing it'll knock and you have a way to scan for it huh...thats awesome. UR al dat an a bagachips yo home boi

9" works...in fact the giant Spectre filter from autozone is the best you can buy IMO for the money and it flows the best.

do they flow as good as K&N AEM etc etc? my K&N is gettin old and has some wear from being removed so many times. i may go the spectre route.
