Hey everyone, it's back again! The 2nd Annual Rides For Racks Charity Car Show. This year it will be at Lake Lanier Islands Resort on Sunday August, 1st 2010.

Last year we kinda shot ourselves in the foot when we had to change the location at the last minute so the turnout wasnt exactly what we were expecting. But this year we're doing it big by partering with Lake Lanier Islands Resort.

All Proceeds from the show will again go to Komen For The Cure for breast cancer research and awareness.

There will be live music in the amphitheater all day long as well as concessions and vendors.

Registration for the show will be $20 the day of the show and $15 for online pre-registration. The categories are:
TOP 30
Best Car
Best Truck
Best Motorcycle
Best Interior
Best Engine
Best Paint
Best Mopar
Best Chevrolet
Best Ford
Best Import
Best Alternative (Other)
Club Participation Award
Best of Show - Early Model - Pre 1990
Best of Show - Late Model - 1991 - Present

Lake Lanier Islands Resort is offering special deals for participants like cheaper hotel fares, and a package deal for car show and water park entry.

So come out, have a cold one, listen to some music, check out some awesome cars and support a great cause. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Thanks to John K, Brandon, Jose, and BeastlyGroceryGetter for coming out last year.

if we have all the Southeast GP's going Ill make the trip

If not.... good god thats a long drive.

Sounds like a lot of fun. It has my interest so I will probably go, but I am definitely not entering my pos GP in the competition.

it would be cool to have a big gp turnout. ive been trying to get a gp meet going for a while. we had a few guys from the forums come out last year. but i want to try to make it like bgpm for the southeast.

gtpinsc- ill definitely keep it updated. we're expecting a huge turnout with it being at Lake Lanier. plus they are gonna advertise it on their website and email everyone on their mailing list about it.

spartangl- that is a long drive. but hopefully we'll have a big gp gathering. maybe we can do something for just gp's on saturday and make a weekend out of it? take a bunch of group car pics?

anyone else down for that?

ejouie- thats cool i know how you feel mine is nothing special. I had mine parked with the show cars last year and it stuck out like a sore thumb lol

im coming. only 3 1/2 each hours each way for a good show and chill wit GP ppls... totally there... hopefully nothing breaks between now and then :th_nervous:

alright so that makes 2 for sure and possibly 3

gtpinsc
EJOUIE
(possibly)Spartangl

I know theres more GA guys on here than that. anyone else down for a gp meet the day before to make a weekend of it?

There is a good chance that I will be out of town the day before, so I would not be able to make the meet. Hopefully my GP will still be running otherwise I would have to take my bro's concorde.

i doubt i can make it a whole weekend thing... depends how money is lookin at that time. more than likely ill get there early one day and stay late.

I went last year, and I plan on going this year but waiting to see if I break something on the Hot Rod Power Tour It's over 2,000 miles and the car is 13 years old with too many mod's :th_laugh-lol3:

Well its looking like theres gonna be a good gp turnout this year a few people from clubgp have said theyre going plus yall. im excited. i havent seen too many modded gps in person.
