2k GTP ABS/TC lights and no codes??

I've been having the lights come on intermittently for weeks now. It seems to only come on when I do a lot of stop and go. When I first start up it's off sometimes. I ohmed out the sensors and all looks normal - resistance changes when I spin the wheels.

I tool it to AAMCO (nobody else would read it, or they wanted $$) The guy had a giant Snapon scanner and he said there's no codes! Tried it with the ignition on and running. ABS/TCS lights were on the whole time.

I am debating just randomly changing the hubs or taking it to the stealership for a diagnosis.

Any other suggestions?

i know it would matter what year you pull it off of, but will it matter if you pull the abs unit from a different 3800? like from a 00 regal ls

Does anyone know if the module is just a computer that can be simply unplugged, or are we talking about a unit with lots of brake lines going in a nd out of it, connected to the master cylinder?

I've done both just hoping it's a computer swap!

i have the same thing going on with my car as far as the ABS/TCS light going on sometimes. I looked through my Alldata and couldn't find the an ABS mod. What part are you referring to. is it the EBCM, (electronic brake control module)?....

I have the factory manuals, but I stopped reading when it said I needed a special scanner. I read the boards here and read how to ohm-out the wheel sensors. Then I stopped at AAMCO to get the ABS codes read.

Since I had no codes, the ABS/Trac light, and the wheel sensors appeared to work, I was told it was probably the module.

I sent the module out to cheapabs.com and got it back and it's been running 2 days so far (fingers crossed)
 


By the way - I picked a used ABS module and pump from a 97 - 03 GP GT - not knowing that the GTP uses a different module.

I'd be willing to sell it for what I paid for both parts - $30.

do you have the part #? i need one for an 01 GP SE. the module only part # for that year is 12458914. let me know..

I am thinking that's the GM part # and does not correlate directly to the codes on the module. The code on the one I have is

92 2919 B 24DLT7

on the bottom it is BOSCH 476 976 51189 5

By the way - 4 days and no codes since the place I mentioned repaired my module so that's an option too
 
yeah mine is bad too. the junk yard wanted 150$ for it. which i guess is good considering its like 800$ new... but it has to be from a gtp. i am not sure about other vehicles that have the same engine though. id just find one from a gtp to be safe.

mine says 92 2910 b on it. i couldn't get to the bottom of the module to read it because it's still on the car. i'll probably get it rebuilt like your's or get one off ebay from a donor car. sound's like your's might be fixed. this is a very vexing problem. thank's for the info. much appreciated...

try ebay. they have quite a few on there. about $100.00 or so...
