• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

235/50/17

245/50 is .1% off of stock but there's more variation than that when they get worn down. The 255/50 is the one that is 1.5% off of stock.

I agree, 245/50 is dead on, close to perfect.

So sandman, the 255/50 at 1.5% off would be overkill probaly causing a lil rub on the fender wells?

Depends if you're lowered and the offset of your wheels. I'm running 245/50s on a 17x8.25+25 wheel, lowered on coils, rolled fenders, and running more camber and I'm not rubbing anymore :)

This is the best one I could find, I also have a build thread so there's a bunch of photos in there. I'd take a pic but I'm on the other side of the country at the moment.

just took some pics, look like we have the same tires too....I have the general tires all season performance G-Max

I'm curious whether are just going for looks or really trying to improve traction or MPG or ...

I doubt a 255 would gain you any performance over a 245. But if you like the look, then that's fine (I don't know what you think about personal preferences like that)

And if you drive the car in the wintertime, a narrower tire will be better. My snow tires are 215/65/16 for that very reason.

What is the actual factory stock tire size and diameter?

Pros and cons of tire/rim offset (like 35+)?

A lower offset gives you a wider width overall so a little better handling. There's really no cons other than maybe having to roll your fenders for most people.

Makes sense, been wanting to do the offset for a while now. I think 30-35mm front and back would look pretty good though ive never actually seen a wbody with a offset in person b4

30-35 is pretty safe. Once you get into the 20s you start to push it. I was looking at wider and lower offset wheels, then I found out they were discontinued after I ordered them.
