2018 Amenity in your GP

Don't get me long, I love the old school feel in my GP. However, if a genie grants you one amenity from 2018, to seamlessly integrate within your GP, what would it be?

I'm going with better cup holders in the 02. Or maybe Bluetooth Hmm...

Back up camera. I bought a rear view mirror with a built in dash cam and back up cam and I love it ! it records both front and rear video and its auto dimming. I found it on amazon and it all looks factory too!

Had a '17 Altima a few weeks ago as a loaner that had heated seats/steering wheel. Never thought anything of it until the first cold night I got into the car. Possibly the best creature comfort imo.

Keyless entry/start would be a close runner up.

Nothing I haven't already added. My new stereo does Bluetooth and has an aux port and USB port on the front along with a mic that I mounted in the overhead console for handsfree phone calls (while retaining the factory steering wheel controls), installed heated GXP seats, rear fold down seats.

I don't have a need for a heated steering wheel. I have gloves if it's that damn cold. And an autodimming rear mirror would be useless with the tint I have.

Honestly I'd go for a factory trans with more than 4 speeds and isn't made out of glass as my 1 choice.

Nice. I always love the surprise on passenger's faces when I get a heated seat and they don't!

What is the dream trans? 6T50? Seems to handle the XTS Vsport

Actually the 6T80 comes in the newer VSports. It would be a good step forward compared to the current one. Would def. hold higher wheel hp better and could probably be tuned to get rid of the slushbox shifting it has stock.

I'd have to go with the AWD that every other car seems to have an option for.

Wife's car has spoiled me on that... It's so much fun in snow. :D lol

This thread makes me want to sell my grand prix and buy a new car

I don't think I'll ever get rid of the GP... It makes for a decent DD to put miles on while you keep the good car in the garage.

For some that might not make sense, but I refuse to give up on that "someday" when I'll have an actual muscle car. To me, that's late 60's with a big block and fat tires.

New is really nice, don't get me wrong... But a new car costs just as much as reviving an old car will, and won't be nearly as fun.

Thanks for the correction. Didn't realize they kept updating. That one. Wasn't all that impressed with it originally (07 Edge) but it seems to be pretty good in the new impala, if a little slow to shift (again a slightly different version 6Txx)

I'd rather have fun in an old car and maybe break something and have to fix it, than be bored with a car that I only pop the hood to check it or do regular maintenance.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to not worry about breaking down or not starting... But I just don't "feel" the car unless I mix my own blood, sweat and tears to use as loc-tite.

^^This^^. I've been searching for a particular first gen Monte Carlo that I want. Sure, it may cost me $30-35K, but in the end it will be much more enjoyable for me to drive than a new car. I'd rather rip some gears and blow off some tires when I feel like it vs. just putt around in a new 18 speed AWD VVT twin turbo 2.0L hybrid loaded with more techno crap that I really don't need. With all the new tech out there it's more than possible to make an older car much more reliable if you feel like it. Just a personal preference I guess.
