2010 ss vs 1999 ws6

Yah I'm 6'4 275 and these cars are fairly evenly matched so I do have an effect on the outcome of the race.

Not really. With the power they produce, your 275 wouldn't really hold either car back enough to affect the race. Pure driver fail on the first race, typical result for the 2nd and 3rd.
I have a friend that has a 2010 SS and its crap next to the 02 F-bodies. Rides rougher, seats aren't as comfy, granted they have more HP, but they are heavier, less aerodynamic, and stock to stock, auto to auto, the 2010 lost 3 times to another friends 02 Z28 with 115k. They look good, not worth the 40k +/- IMO

It's not the amount of power...every 100lbs. adds a tenth of a second...dragstrip tested :D

This is true, but the Pwnage given by the T/A in races 2 & 3 (camera guy switched cars between races) showed how little it actually affected the race. Regardless of him being in the car, the Maro still lost.
That was all I was saying. I know the 1/10ths really matter in a 1/4 but the distance was more than 3/10ths so it was irrelevant.

overall I think between these two cars its a pretty damn even race.....the driver of the camaro had just bought the car the day before so he had next to no experience driving a sports car and if you watch in the videos he doesn't hit the 2-3 shift even once....the trans am is an auto and the driver has quite a bit of experience gettin the best possible out of it....except on the dig race he sun off the line because the pavement was ****ty and uneven

I bet this video would cause a bunch of panties to twist on any of the 5th gen camaro forums. If anybody has ever been around a group of 5th gen owners before, you know what I mean. There is a reason why alot of 4th gen fbody owners don't like 5th gen owners...and it doesn't have anything to do with one being faster then the other. I will say I personally know one really cool 5th gen owner, he is an older guy though.

OP, where abouts in AR are you and your buddies from? I'm from Benton.

Yeah, and we all know a stock stalled A4 LS1 is soooo fast. :th_jester:

I know exactly what you mean, I run with a F-body group, mostly Gen4s and we basically hate the majority of Gen5 owners for their "my car is so much better than yours" attitude that seems to come up. Altho despite the big egos and bigger mouths, few want to race against my buddies cars, and even fewer win. (Not to claim badassness, there's a couple over 500rwhp, most are minor bolt on 13 flat cars)

In a place where cars rot instead of age.

I can appreciate the desire for a brand new car.

I want a new car, but there are few cars I really see worth the money. Would rather just get a new(ish) car that I can really enjoy and spend extra money on the other things I think I need :th_jester:
