2010 mustang gt

There are video's of it making 435 to the tire stock...so I think Ford is under-rating again like with the Terminator.

Hardly.....I agree with you 98% of the time but now 415hp is not something to **** with. Even the v6 base has moved up someone tested it out to run a 13.7. The base I'm talking about. So the gt and the v6 is no joke. The pony car is officially beating out the camaro/challenger crowd for 2011, and they better step up their game.

I thought those were projected numbers on the Mustang. I don't think they have actually taken the new 2011 mustang down the 1/4 mile yet. But a 6.2L and a 5.0L? I know the camaro has more weight, but the LS3 motor has more torque than the 5 liter.

435 to the tire would put it at? 450 crank hp?

Much more than that...even with 13% drivetrain loss (low, typically 15-20%) would put it at 500HP at the crank. Also keep in mind this is not like the magazines where they dyno an engine with zero accessories on it while shoving air into it.

The new 5.0L has been dynod and it made 440 HP at the crank and I believe either 404 or 412 torque. It runs a 12.7 in the 1/4 mile. It does beat the camaro and challanger in every aspect. As far as the hennesey camaro, well yeah actually the GT500 did beat it. That camaro wasn't designed good enough. It had a lower stance, a nice new super charger, and a few other odds and ends but really it road like ****, still didn't have that much power considering it was on a "wtich-blend" of octance (its 91, 93, and 100 octane. hardly DD worth) while a GT500 ran amazingly smooth, had the same amount of power and can be filled up at any gas station. Oh did I mention the GT500 comes with a warrenty and has packages that can make 700hp with that factory warrently.....

Camaro 436 HP at 5900 RPM
Mustan 412 HP at 6200 RPM

Camaro is push rod and the Mustang is overhed Cam with 32 valves. I think it will be one hell of a race! The one thing that makes me think the Camaro will have a wider torque range than the Mustang is, more cubic inches, More HP at a lower RPM. 1/4 mile is a good comparison, but gearing is most of your 1/4 mile racing. Personally I want a car that has the thump to it at any speed.

Camaro technical Specs

Hands Down the Mustang WILL be a better car in the 1/4 mile because it weighs less, and has a bigger gear ratio. If you look at the V6 Camaro the bore and stroke are close too? So I would have to say that once you get the camaro V8 and the Mustang V8 up to 100 mph and thump the gas, The camaro will have a bit more bite.

i can honestly say after going to the new york autoshow today, and seeing the new 5.0 mustang on its side, and seeing the actual motor up close, ford is really not kidding around it looks REALLY well put together and designed well, and after sitting in the camaro ss, challenger RT and mustang 5.0, the shifter in the 5.0 pretty much glides into place perfectly, the mustang has always been a light car tho, i think always lighter than the camaro.... am i correct?

most mustangs suck period 225hp from a 4.6 v8 and the 5.0l 225 hp the droped to 215 the only reason they are fast is cuz they are light cars the grand prix is almost a thousand pounds more with the few mods my gt has its just as fast as my old 88 fox body
