2010 mustang gt

I was running late for work doing 80, hit a light and made a u-turn, i thought it was an 05 gt with just an exhaust, he started reving at the light so i reved back thinking maybe i could get him off the line maybe itll be close, we went from about a 10 mph role (1st and 1st) he had a 5 speed, i had him til my car hit about 40 mph and he hit 3rd gear?

So my question, whats it take for a gtp to beat a 2010 stang with an exhaust, and why the hell do gtps "Suck" in top end when they have 2.93s in them, and no my car isnt stock

Because they dont make any power. Plus, the new '10 GT with exhaust and a good driver is a mid 13's car. Good luck.

sadly the driver was HORRIBLE, shifted slow and when i raced him from 60 to 100 i beat him and he claimed he couldnt get it into 4th gear.

Hardly.....I agree with you 98% of the time but now 415hp is not something to **** with. Even the v6 base has moved up someone tested it out to run a 13.7. The base I'm talking about. So the gt and the v6 is no joke. The pony car is officially beating out the camaro/challenger crowd for 2011, and they better step up their game.

Its a totally redesigned engine. It doesnt share any components like the older mod motors did since those are based on the truck engine to begin with.

Its still a modular engine just has a larger displacment no biggie

I just dont see the hype over the new mustang yea its got a few more ponies
and in a couple years dodge will have advances with the challenger and then gm will boost up the maro its a game they play

Well i love pontiac and GM and all, but come on 240 hp with a s/c engine, the 2000 acura TL has 240 and its a 3.2, and than they get rid of the GTP and bring back no no im sorry steal the holden body and put a 5.7 in it that runs a 13.9 and weighs 3900 pounds? and people wonder why GM went under

So...if you change the cams/pistons/displacement/tuning it is a totally different motor?

Ok.

You keep arguing this, and I cannot understand why. Your argument is that it is a modular, so it is the same. That is like saying your 3.8L is just a modified version of the Ford 5.0L because they are both push-rod engines. The 2010 Coyote 5.0L is a whole new engine; get over it.

The 3800 S/C is from 1996 when are those other engines from?:th_thumbsup-wink:

Doesnt seem that much different, just some minor mods, not a whole new engine.

Consider the BMW straight six has been redesigned a million times yet its still considered the same engine. :D

New heads don't mean new short block design.

You kids need to step back from wiki once in awhile. It is a great resource, but not the only place you should look. Try folks that have actually gone through-and-through the engine:

2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 Coyote Engine - 5.0 Mustang & Fast Fords
2011 Mustang GT 5.0L Coyote, in depth look - LRS Blog - Read Here Shop Here

From one of your links: "The new 5.0 really is an all-new engine sharing virtually no parts with the prior 4.6-liter. Only the bore spacing and deck height were carried over, allowing the block and heads to be machined on the same transfer lines with less re-tooling."

******* wiki. :th_shakinghead2:

"headers" out of the box is nice.

i have faith in GM, they will produce the henesey camaro which will outbeat even fords supersnake. atleast i hope.... but than they have to work on the price

The engine has been redesigned from the ground up to handle the potential power increases. :)
