2008 won't crank over

have 2008 3.8v6 died on way home it won't even turn over, you can turn engine with wrench so it's not locked up , battery good , all gauges lightup and go on when key is turned on , but when you go to the crank the engine all lights and gauges go off and you can hear something in the TB click but starter won't turn , whats up

Check the grounds on the battery and starter, one of them isnt allowing the voltage to go all the way through.

ground is good , while checking for power at the starter the probe slipped and jumped the starter so starter works , something is blocking the starter out . ??? ignition? or computer?

Remove both battery cables and clean the battery terminals and the cable ends and then make sure they are tightened up good. My 00 GT did this to me once when one of the cables was just slightly loose.

if none of that ^^^^^ works, turn the key to run, then jump the starter again, if it fires up it could be a bad starter relay or ignition harness.

the relays in the fuse box under the hood can be swapped around to see if that the problem.

my mechanic told me ignition switch , so replaced it , wasn't it reset the computer wasn't that , when the starter was jumped the security started to go off and the key was on ,horn started going off ???
what's to do next ????

Sounding like a BCM problem at this point...not sending the output signal...

bcm or another sensor blocking the signal telling it not to start???

does the bcm have to programed ?? would a used one work or would you buy a new one ??

bcm would throw a body code would it not? and if it is bad from what ive read here it need to be programmed by a dealership.
