Brand new to this forum.

I have a 2007 GXP, 126K mi. Intermittantly getting a P301 error code. When it does throw the code, it "shakes"/runs rough, mostly at slow speeds and shifts rough at slow speeds. It just did this today and the time before was almost 2 weeks ago. In between that time it has been runing fine. Where and how to proceed first?

You mean code P0301???

Because thats a misfire code, you will want to get that fixed quickly.

I assume the spark plugs and wires have never been changed and they are do at 80-100k miles.

Start with with new spark plugs and wires and see what happens. Make sure to go with the stock replacement plugs.

Correct, P0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected.

Some more info. On the way home yesterday, on a stretch of road I normal average 24 mpg, I was only getting 18. Fuel consumption had gone way way up. T the check engine light would start flashing at lower speeds and clear at higher speeds.

Still check sparkplugs first?

how many miles you got? if you at near or over 100,000 its tune up time for sure.

dont floor it and make the cel flash. thats its way of tell you to stop flooring it, and fix it.

the only other thing that makes the light flash is a clogged cat, but being a 07 lets hope its just a tune up needed.

For a stock GXP for spark plus if you change them go with NGK TR6IX. their one heat range cooler and the stock motor likes them much better and will run better. I'm not for sure what the acdelco heat ranges are but 1 heat range is better than the stock range
