2007 Grand Prix rear brake pad replacement

Anyone have any information on replacing rear brake pads on this? I am hearing some concerns on how to take the e brake cable off and putting it back on. Not sure if the model makes a difference?

You should not have to touch the cable I believe.

Just remove the caliper, then the bracket, remove the pads and rotor, new rotor on, then your calipers are a screw in style, so you'll have to take a big pliers or somthing and stick it in the 2 spots on the piston and turn it back in. Grease the slides and pins and bolt it back together.

I would go rent the tool from autozone or advance to screw them in. I wouldnt risk breaking something with the pliers. But u shouldn't have to worry bout the ebrake. Just make sure it's not engaged when changin the pads out

Why rent an $8 tool that you could buy and never have to source again?

And no, you don't have to touch the cable. I did my rear pads and rotors in literally 15 minutes. They are cake work.

that $8 tool is crap, I'm talking about the real caliper compressor, which is 10xs easier to use
