2007 Grand Prix GXP Project

I have a 2007 Grand Prix GXP, that ran great, until recently when the car started only driving in first gear. I have the automatic transmission with TapShift. I changed the TCM Fuse in the Fusebox; no difference. The car drives, then after a few miles coasts to a stop with the engine revving when i push the gas. If I turn the engine off, wait a minute, and turn the key again, the car drives again, but only in fist gear. Soooo, I'm getting a new transmission. I decided to go with the TEP transmission Transmissions with bells and whistles because I want to turbo the car with this kit Turbo-Kits.com - Cartuning Turbo Kit for 06-09 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP | Price: $5,395.00
The turbo kit comes with a 4T-65E Transmission Shift Kit which I wont need because of the TEP rebuild. I also want to get CAI 2005 - 2008 5.3L Grand Prix Intake System - 2007 - V8 5.3L - Grand Prix - Pontiac - Cold Air Intakes - Store or
K&N Aircharger Air Intake System - 2006-2008 Grand Prix, Impala, Monte Carlo (5.3L V8) [KAN63-3059] - $410.97$293.84 : MarylandSpeed.com- Your First Stop on the Way to Performance!
i dunno which one. Although one is Legal in CA one's not, but that doesn't bother me.
and a magnaflow Exhaust Magnaflow Catback Exhaust - 2006-2007 Grand Prix GXP [16726] - $879.65$747.70 : MarylandSpeed.com- Your First Stop on the Way to Performance!
The Turbo Kit comes with an Exhaust and a K&M filter but im not sure what's better, the turbo kits parts, or these parts in the links. Any suggestions?

I have already sent emails to TEP and requested the Trans, and an E-mail to Turbo-kits.com asking for an updated price if I did not want the shift kit and possibly their exhaust or air filter either. Would you guys just use what comes in the kit, or would you see if they would lower the price of the kit and replace the parts with other mods you find online? My car is broke, I want it fixed, and better than ever, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Im thinking the G8 GT cam switch also, but not going to mess with that yet.

I've been looking around and found these other Twin Turbos Squires Turbo Systems - Universal
that would be cheaper, they dont have the exhaust or the transmission shift kit, and it would leave me money left over to buy the Cat Back exhaust that I want and some Headers. I don't know much about turbochargers and the like, just wondering if the Turbo-kits.com kit is worth the price with all you would get, or if the STS twin turbos would be better and they are cheaper. I know there are people who have modded/upgraded their 07 GP GXP's, so they know more than I do, I want to know what they would do.

That's upsetting. I already ordered the transmission, should take about 4 weeks Dave said. I wanted these headers
Doug Thorley Headers - Sandrail Straight Back Tube Size 1.75" Collector Size 3" Dual Exit, Full Length w/ Bomb Shell Mufflers for 04-up Pontiac Grand_Prix at Andy's Auto Sport
with this exhaust
Magnaflow Catback Exhaust - 2006-2007 Grand Prix GXP [16726] - $879.65$747.70 : MarylandSpeed.com- Your First Stop on the Way to Performance!
but both come with mufflers. These
http://www.andysautosport.com/ponti...rmance/headers/doug_thorley/doug00209912.html
do not come with mufflers, wondering if two of these headers with the magnaflow catback would work together without too many extra pieces?

I really want the turbo; they are trying to estimate a price for me without the transmission pieces. I f I can make all the smaller mods and still end up with over 505 HP, I will ditch the turbo idea. I want to port my Intake Manifold because I saw the trouble someone went through swapping on an LS6 intake manifold and that is beyond me. I also want the cold air induction and cam swap, but ill have to research more and add up all the smaller HP gains before I decide. I never take my car into the shop, I bring it onto the base to the AutoCare center to use their tools and I have the Haynes Manual and anything that goes wrong I search it on the internet to do it myself. This transmission thing is past my level of knowledge, as well as the Cam swap will be. Maybe Ill just do all the smaller mods and get a body kit, found some awesome pieces online. I had a 2001 Bonneville but someone went through a red light and I T-boned em, so now I have this one. I wish G8 GXP's werent so limited or far away or they would have brought that Holden Ute over.

For your turbo set up IIRC that instead of headers you get a plog and a downpipe for easy exit for the exhaust.

I must read like/come off as a retard! I've been looking into this stuff seriously to figure out what would work with a turbo set up. I found a couple websites that are helping me out.
TurboClub.com General Turbo Modifications - Page 1 / 6 SUGGESTED MODIFICATION SEQUENCE
Aftermarket Performance Parts Thread - LS1TECH

I decided on definately getting the Cartuning Turbo-kit, the TEP transmission is being built already, I have to get that expensive stuff outta the way now or i won't have cash for it later. Other immediates are the Magnaflow Catback Exhaust - 2006-2007 Grand Prix GXP [16726] - $879.65$747.70 : MarylandSpeed.com- Your First Stop on the Way to Performance! exhaust but I'm keeping my stock tips, and one of these cams: Engine c/f or Engine c/f any suggestion on which one would be appreciated.
I haven't found much info on Throttle Bodies, or much info on intake manifolds aside from the Ported LS4 manifolds or the LS6 and LS1 manifolds that are a pain to switch to. I was wondering if an Edelbrock manifold would fit, but nothing on their site helped me figure that out. Edelbrock.com - Manifolds - Pontiac
I have to figure out the Intake and throttle body because I want them done at the same time as the Cam and exhaust, before the tune.

Dyno tune, Rockers, suspension, Brake system, wheels and tires, body kit and paint job are getting planned out, but will come last, in that order.
It'll be about four weeks before I post pics, because that's when the transmission will be mailed out, but what would pics of a transmission and a turbo really show? Aside from proof of installation, it wouldn't really change the way the car looks I don't think. Anyway, that's what's going on with my car so far.

The CAI for those cars are for NA cars, not turbo cars....
TurboClub.com General Turbo Modifications - Page 1 / 6 SUGGESTED MODIFICATION SEQUENCE
Turbo Club Turbo Modifications P2, Turbocharged Automobiles Ignition and spark plug Technical Information

these two pages are telling me I should change to a foam air filter, and change to a cold air intake system, or one that pulls from in front of the radiator. So this 2005 - 2008 5.3L Grand Prix Intake System - 2007 - V8 5.3L - Grand Prix - Pontiac - Cold Air Intakes - Store intake system wouldn't help me out at all?

I have pics of my car on here finally, and most of the pieces I am going to add after the Trans gets here on the 5th of July I believe. Dave finally sent my Tranny, still waiting on Kevin for the Fuel Injectors, Spark Plugs, and Shift kit, which weren't in the Turbo Kit, none of which I am going to use anyway(I'll have a TEP tranny no shift kit needed, Zex Nitrous 2 range colder spark plugs, and 60lb injectors). I have a Zex Nitrous Plate kit (i want to cool the compressed turbo air with it) but I used the F.A.S.T. formula to see what size fuel injectors I would need. I need 65, but am going with 60lb as they don't require many other mods to install in regards to the OEM computer. Going to copy supercatxr7 and get the cartuning 3 inch exhaust manifold upgrade kit and also copy his fuel delivery system with the Kenne Bell boost a pump, and similar fuel lines and rails. I want to upgrade the Intake Manifold, but Im not sure if I can follow the directions for the LS6 swap correctly or if i should modify my hood and try out this Edelbrock Intake. This is only because my 90mm-105mm NO2 plate system will not work with 78mm intake manifold. I could buy a new 78mm nitrous plate and two 4bolt to 3 bolt converters for either side of the N02 plate if it would work that way, but then i have even more parts laying around that i wont use, though it would be easier than the intake swap. With the Turbo and the NO2 I probably wont NEED a bigger Intake Manifold or Throttle Body, just a MAF sensor I think. Thinking about XLink 2.1 and one of these TB1 or TB2. Also, Exhaust (super cheapest one that I've found!!!). I hear people swear by this exhaust with the addition of a DHM cutout down-pipe. Of course there will be many other mods eventually, camshaft, cylinders, push-rods, but all that is after I figure the suspension stuff I've been looking at. I plan on having this car for a long time, and I know low mileage LS4 engines are under $2K and under $1.5K if I blow one up. Aside from the Inferno Hood and Spoiler, I've found replacement Front Fenders, Front Bumper, Back Bumper, and Side skirts that do not look stock, but might let extremedimensions sponsor me, our cars are on the list. Im not too active on these forums, but after I get all the mods on my car, I'll be back. Any suggestions, comments, criticisms are welcome. I may be relatively new to this car modding scene, but I think its taken over a part of my soul.

KevinHurley-- I would like to see videos or pics of your exhaust, because custom is awesome, although your asking price is more expensive than the Magnaflow that I've found....
