2007 ABS module may be acting up

Daughters 07 GT. I have not driven yet or pulled codes plan to do that Friday. But by her description of the ABS kicking in during most parking and the ABS and traction control light on it sounds to me like the module may need to be rehabbed.

If that is the case what's the best way to disable? Unplug the plugs at the module, or pull the fuses there seem to be 3 individual all dedicated to ABS?

Also if the module needs to to be rebuilt, can I remove the module and still drive the car? Do I need to protect the leftover connections?

Thanks in advance.

It is likely one of the sensors built into the wheel bearings. When a sensor reads out of range the computer thinks the car is skidding and activates ABS. It is very rare for the ABC MODULE to fail. Have it scanned for codes.

Plan to read codes Friday. The first post should say braking not parking. Damn iPhone.

FYI you can the module out and still drive the car. Only the electronic portion comes out, the hydraulic portion stays in. Send to www.cheap-abs.com and they will rebuild for about $100

Here are the codes in history

Currently when I drove it the traction control light was on and you could not turn it on or off. Will get some light abs action randomly while braking.

Left front wire has a fray spot in it going to the hub but still reads Rev per min.

Thinking the wire must lose connection at some point to get the LF code

Also not sure what the C0550 is it that means the module may be going bad.

That's what I figured. Think I will start w the hub. Now all the lights are off after I will he'd the wires. Does the C0550 for sure mean the module is on the way out? Or could the wire be messing that up module ?

if you see bare wire to the hub, fix that, it can cause the code later on if its not the cause now.

that module being bad is what tends to cause the abs kicking in when it should now be. bad hubs just turn off the abs when the abs light comes on.

Ok if I pull the module out and send it in and my daughter still needs to drive it should I just wrap up what's left with Saran Wrap or something?

Scott doesnt always mean main unit is bad . just had this on my 02. the hub wasn't completely shot but would read out of range. the module would think the car was skidding based on readings and activate abs. replace the bad hub first and see if that fixes the problems before you condemn the main unit.

Daughter hit a large pothole and bent the LF rim and blew out tie rod end. abs light was on/off afterwards and that hub bearing was only 6 most old. turns out it wasn't busted, it would still read, but often reading wrong and confusing the main unit. replaced hub and all is well.

its possible, but hes got a bad module code there. and a wheel hub code and a tc off code. bad hubs set hub codes, not bad module codes.

possibly malfunction code is due to bad input from hub. just saying change hub first then fix module if necessary

Put the new hub on last night. Will clear the codes and drive it around today and see if that did the trick.
