2006 GXP Tires?

I apologize if this was mentioned somewhere before but I got tired of searching through old posts.

So I bought my hot rod fancy car and expected some things to be a bit more expensive than the usual car. But one thing that was missed at sale time was knowing and being told that the car had 2 different sizes of tires (and no spare) which really caught me off guard.

I still have the stock 18" rims, but everyone is telling me that I can't put 4 of the same size tires on all 4 rims and that I should not put 4 new same size rims on because, because, because.

I have already replaced front tires once to the tune of $612 for the pair. Looks like I will be needing a full set this year already again.

Bridgestone 255/45/R18 Front
Bridgestone 245/25/R18 Rear

Goodyear is the only other company I found that makes a matched set for the car.

Any ideas suggestions for how to handle the mixed tire set?

put on the same size WHEELS all around the car and you can then run the same tires all around the car. it just makes it easier in the end than having that stupid staggered setup.

Yeah, I thought of that. But I was told by both the tire place and the dealership that I "couldn't" with no clear explanation of why. I get the front tires for performance, and I would think I could put the same size rims on the back. Now, I haven't checked for myself to see if the stud holes don't line up or the tires might rub, so on and so forth. I have 2 more years left on the warranty I guess I will have to find out if that will void it or not.

VDV18, thanks for the link. I admit I got lazy trying to manually search/read. It was informative.

Simbah, seems like my tires were a "SPECIAL" order last time. That and I had worn through the rubber to the belt on one of them and was in a HUGE hurry to get them replaced.:th_angry2: Anyways, tax, stem, balancing, disposal and road hazard warranty really added up. Discount Tire has been my best tire source here in AZ.

your tires were so damn expensive because you put the wrong size on the back, wtf... a 245/25... really?

your rears are "supposed to be" 225/50/18
