2006 door latch assembly

Does this model year have a different setup than all the other years?
I cannot seem to find an inexpensive replacement to the passenger side rear door latch assembly.
I see tons of actuators for all sorts of years, but on the 05 and 06 I think the actuators and the latch assembly are a single unit which Dorman and Direct Fit have not bothered to make a replacement for. After two days of poking around to all the usual haunts, autozone, advance, o reilly , rock, jc whitney, autopartswarehouse and any other link I could pry out of google. It appears I have to get a GM unit for over a 145 bucks or go to a pick a part and grab one.

If anyone is aware of where I can get the replacement latch assembly for a reasonable price please let me know.

I am planning on hitting the one pick a part that shows a 06 in their inventory this weekend unless someone can turn me on to a reasonably priced replacement.

On the positive side I got the original off in less than 30 minutes doing it for the first time, so I oughta be able to get out of the junkyard in 20 :)

Thanks in advance

Tried the Pick a Part today, no 06 in sight, they musta crushed it since they posted the list April 1st.
Did get a nice chicken burrito from the roach coach working the lot though ;)

Obviously door latch sourcing is a pretty boring subject, but in case someone down road searches this thread out for help let me put the bookend on it. Found out from poking around on Ebay that the latch for an 06 Pontiac should be the same as an 04 though 08, as well as the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent from the same years. Found out today the pick a part near my work has an 04, and they said it would be around 10 dollars. Since the dealer wanted 146, the GM sites on the web wanted 96, The ebay deals were 75, the used ebay deals were 45, ten dollars and a 2 dollar entry sounded pretty good. But when I picked the lock up after playing with it for a week to bring over to show my neighbor what I had been talking about something must have happened. I went to demonstrate that when you locked it closed you just pull it back open with your finger, and it went CLICK CLICK loudly. And what do you know but it cant be pulled back open now. Something that was blocking it from clicking secured must have moved out of the way and now it is working :th_thumbsup-wink:.
Going to put it back in and see what happens, but I am hoping this little exercise from the last week is something we used to refer to in the marines as "Good Training" LOL
