I found a salvage yard that has the 18" rims that fit on the grandprix gxp. Since the wheels are staggard i was wondering would they fit on the base model grandprix. The other issue is that they have four of the rear rims which are wider. Does anyone know if they will fit on the front as well as the rear on on 06 GP

I have no idea if they'll fit on a base GP or not. I'd think they would, but don't take my word. I don't want you to purcahse and then have them not fit.
But just as and FYI.........The rear rims are NOT the wider rim. GXP's run 18X8 on the front and 18X7 on the rear. The 2006 rims are also different than the 2008 rims. The 2005, 2006, and partial 2007 VIN's have Forged Alcoas. The other partial 2007 VIN's, and 2008 rims were made by a knockoff company and nowhere near as nice looking or of high quality when compared to the Forged Alcoas.
If you can purchase 4 of the 8" rims for a good price I'd do it anyway, they're pretty tough to find.....especially if they're the Forged Alcoas.

and to note..its the wide ones were in the front originally...looks silly maybe put them in the back if you want a better look.
