2005 Keyless entry quit working (Reciever location?)

2005 grand prix comp g. All the sudden both remotes quit working all together (new batteries, tested signal, both were good). Wondering where the receiver is located so I can see about replacing it. after googling it, it looks as if it is either part of the body control module or its own unit (neither were very clearly explained.). I saw it might have been located in my trunk, but it was no where to be found. Is it buried in the dash somewhere?
 


It's in the trunk, if you climb in and look in the middle of the deck just reach your hand in there and there should be a module, if your car has a 5 button dic then there will be two modules one is your rke the other is your compass. If I remember correctly the rke module would be on the passenger side when you reach your hand in there

I'm pretty sure 05 is built into the BCM as there is nothing in my trunk and and I have also read it's in the BCM n 04+.

It'll be this or there is another module that clips in like it one is your compass the other is the rke module

I don't have the amp so I access it through the the hole that's there I guess you'd have to go at it like you were changing a speaker?

So I was able to pull this out of my trunk deck. two modules up there, the other one said "compass" on it. assuming this is the RKE module
