2005 Grand Prix GT Transmission Problem

I am a newbie but come with what seems to be a common problem with the Grand Prix Transmission. I have 81,000 miles and purchased new from the dealership in 2005, I serviced the transmission at 62,000 miles (not a flush). About a year ago I noticed that my transmission was slipping into first, second and third gear after the transmission got heated up, about 30 minutes of driving. It does not happen everyday and if I manually shift through the gears there is no jerking or slipping into gear. Dealership said I need a new tranny at the price of $3,295 with a 3 yr 100,000 mile warranty. I emailed Pontiac about my problem hoping to get financial help, they will only help with $865. Has anyone got to the root of the problem with the transmissions in the Grand Prix. Does anyone have any suggestions on possible fixes that won't cost me over $2,000. Thanks

I have a problem with my GP, which has 107,000 miles on it. Can feel my transmission shift into gear but wont move. As of in neutral. But it only happens every so often. Did this start to happen after you changed the fluid? I am soon to change my fluid.
