2005 Base engine belt/pulley issue + other issues. Need insight

I have a 2005 Pontiac grand prix base model 138k miles. Starting from cold i get a knocking/dangling/tapping sound coming from the engine(belt and pulleys area), heard from inside the car, only at idle drive or park. I have tried pin pointing the cause but cant seem to find an exact issue. From what I think, it could be the tensioner pulley(which i have spun without the belt on and it is smooth), the a/c compressor or the power steering pump. If in park at idle when I steer the wheel the rpms will dip and sometimes the headlights dim.

Feel a lot of vibrations in the steering wheel. The a/c compressor seems to click a whole lot aswell. Headlights will dim, even at 50mph rolling windows up or down on all switches expect front passenger for whatever reason.

I've felt the whole car shake pretty aggressively in park, although that has only happened twice.
Car whistles going into 2nd gear anywhere below 20 aswell.(weird)
Tranny can be erratic sometimes. Like it will accelerate quicker than usual and shift hard and quick at higher rpm, under normal acceleration.

Plenty of problems with this car..but willing to upkeep it. Thanks in the mean time. Any insight will be helpful.

Well some of what your describing might be a bad alternator. With the car running check the voltage at the battery. The voltmeter should read something over 13 volts or so, if not your alternator might be bad. As for everything else it's tough to say. It could be a bad belt, but if you're still running stock alternator and water pump putting a new belt on might wear these components out quicker.

Got a new belt about 15k miles ago. Stock everything besides plugs, wires, thermostat and coolant elbows. I'll check alternator when I get a chance. Apparently this car uses side post batteries but mine has a top post? Looks like someone cut the wires to fit a top post. Didn't know if that would cause anything.
