2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

I thought it was better than the stock option though, as far as performance. Am I wrong?

Not when you throw on Chinese made boat anchors and Cheap Chinese tires; for daily driving in the dry they are fine, but for performance (including gas mileage and rainy weather) 9 times out of 10...it is not a good combo.

To each their own, as long as your happy. I put cheap Chinese wheels on my car before, I never skimp on tires.

So I run Royal Purple 5W30 in the summer for motor oil & 10W30 in the winter. What kind(name & style) of oil filter is the best to use & why? I don't want to make the same mistake like I did on the headlights. 😧

I run mobile one 5w30 all year long in mn..atleast thats what the dealer puts in the car in the winter. since it got warm out, i been doing oil every 3500-4000 miles, mobile one full sythetic 5w30, k&n oil filter. I think it is 23$ for 5 quarts, and 8$ for the filter.

I got the one with the 1 inch bolt on the end, easy on, easy off. Same price on ebay when i ordered 4 of them, so im stocked up.

If you run the 4.3L oil filter you will get more filtering capability and it fits right in there. There was a thread on the oil filters, lemme see if I can find it....

Why not get the bigger, better filter? Get one for a 2000 S10 with a 4.3l. It's screws right on with no problem and you get more filtration, a little more oil, etc.
