2004 Panda Prix Comp G - The beginning for it's new owner

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Just a recap

Dave.... hope yours don't leak this time.

Mine had a minor problem with condensation after hand washing it. I went and put more caulk in the seams Thursday night, and washed it last night. Now my whole headlight is condensated, unlike before just the low beam area.

Thats a common problem my friend. Thats why its best to retro a new set of lights bc the seals are soft and will go back together better..

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Just a recap

I thought they were not "off the rack" coil overs... Am I wrong about that? I thought they were prototypes??
Custom made to order, in other words, they make them when you order them. Still Held coilovers

You do get to decide on spring rates.

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Just a recap

Those would be my turn signals and retros aren't hard just time consuming

That makes sense i think ill stick with the switch backs in my splits, I thought so after doing lots of research on the retros it would be time consuming. How great is the output like i have 6k low beam and 3k fogs and they are bright together and give a great output, so will the retros double that output?

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Billy and Drunkies' Weekend Getaway

Oh god not those mounts Dave! Welcome to squishtown. That tranny mount comes on the regals and they like to crack and separate over time. Especially at the power level you'll be pushing. And I guarantee you'll collapse that "solid" motor mount. My N/A Impala that had a cam crushed that mount in 6 months. They're not solid, they're a stock mount with no fluid in it so they're hollow.

idk about that. i had solid mounts just like that for a while and those fvckers caused vibration. so they must not be too damn hollow....

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Billy and Drunkies' Weekend Getaway

Dude...this is almost the exact build I'm doing...have the nic sitting in the garage waiting on some injectors and a few other minor thigs before I make it happen...I'm gonna be interested to see the results

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Billy and Drunkies' Weekend Getaway

Lookin good :) Some comments, Bill and I usually prefer the ZZP viton seals but those should be fine. The ZZPs normally go on easier. I agree on the trans mount. The regal guys normally upgrade to what we run on our cars. Just a suggestion but I'd consider getting a stock replacement (hydraulic mount). Oh and these purdy headers will be going on Drunkie's :) [of course they show some age now but you get the idea]

No more ugly bend

Re: Panda Prix 2.0 - 2004 GTP Comp G - Billy and Drunkies' Weekend Getaway

Bill and I usually prefer the ZZP viton seals but those should be fine.

The ones he has are a ***** to get on. I was even using a socket o try and push them on and it doesn't seem like they ever seat properly. If you need extras I have some sitting here because I ended up buying the ZZP ones.

As far as the mounts...I would just get two anchor mounts and drill them to make sure there is no fluid. I went to 2 parts stores and ordered solid mounts. When they came in I shook them to see if they had fluid and every time, but the last ones I received, were fluid filled when they were labled solid mounts. I took the last ones I got home because I could hear no fluid when I shook them. I figured I would check them anyways and drilled them and guess what....fluid came out....I drained them out and filled them with some black RTV (Caulk gun tubes) and will be installing them soon. Seems like everyone is filling them with either 3M Window weld or black RTV, it just depends on how stiff you want them.

Funny isn't it Dave.. I didn't talk to either of these guys about it.

Dropped the crank gear at Eastwoods Machine shop. Should be ready today/Monday at the latest.
