2004 grand prix gt2 performance ideas

What do you mean shorter dog bones on a lowered car is bad? http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/425-Shorter-Dogbones.aspx go look at what the shorter dog bones do???

The k&N air filter has a LIFE TIME WARRANTY and i have to make or do anything with it, just bolts right on and sits perfect.

Me and all my friends all use royal purple oil. don’t know why? Go look into the research behind different oil brands. http://www.animegame.com/cars/Oil Tests.pdf
Sorry I don’t cut corners and I don’t mind spending the extra money to protect my engine and make it look/sound nice. If you don’t want different opinions then don’t post a public thread asking for options…?? Obv people will have dif options and you can get a lot of ideas on what you want to do. Not sure what the point of being a D1ck is to people who are trying to help provide info on things you’re curious about.

Oh god.. Your one of types of guys that believe everything the vendors tell you? It's about making money they can throw whatever b/s gimmick in there that they want to get you to purchase it. Shorter dog bones does very little for the cv axles.. When you lower a car your also throwing the geometry of the axles out of place putting more wear and tear onto them... Vinnie spacers raise the axle and puts them back I to the correct geometry. K&N is expensive for no reason the same results your going to get with it you can get a fraction of the cost by making your own. Oil is oil as long as your keeping up on your oil change you'll be fine doesn't matter if it's royal purple, Mobil 1, castrol etc.. Of course use a quality filter.

Well let’s see, my car vibrated at wot before installing the shorter dog bones and now it doesn’t. So I’m pretty sure that worked. K&N is overpriced but it looks sick under the hood so whatever. Cheap oil is cheap oil and high end oil is high end oil (usually) some will protect much better than others. These different oils have been tested over and over and over, that’s why there are qualifications or min standers to meat to be say, DEX os certified. Now with the royal purple ATF my Trans temp is around 12 degrees cooler than before. When not under a huge load and just cruising around you can’t ever feel the Trans shifting it’s so smooth. You get what you pay for, so if you’re buying the cheapest auto Trans fluid you can there’s a reason why it’s so cheap.

Just wondering. What's your fluid temp at

depends on how hard im driving the car, before the trans change i saw it peak out at 240 and after doing it iv not seen it over 228.

go 0-130+ and watch. me and my friend were messing around on the freeway yesterday on our way to school and i saw it peak at 228. my 07 gp never seems to go over 200 though

My gp isn't a race car. It's my daily and it needs to last. Not saying I don't get on it everyonce in a while. From a roll. Beating on it won't last no matter what fluid you use

think about if i was just using crude oil and doing the same? go read that link i put a few posts up. trust me the fancy oil is all the keeps my cars going. that and hopes and dreams.

If you are driving your car that hard that fancy oil isn't going to help it last longer.

Whether it's accurate or not that tranny is cooking
True its getting hotter than it should but my point was I have seen my DIC vary greatly 5 ° -10 ° compared to my aeroforce which updates nearly instantly vs the DIC which is closer to every few minutes so don't always rely on that information

213 is acceptable/questionable but 240 is pushing/cooking it

When mine gets up to 190° I just command the high fan relay on and it cools down to 160 in a few minutes

I have seen this before on the forum so here ya go

After reading sevenhellz posts I think I have lost a few IQ points.

Dude, just stop. You are clueless about cars. Fancy oil is just that, fancy oil. You aren't protecting the internals any more than you would using the cheap stuff. Your "fancy" oil isn't helping.... ANY. I have only ever seen temps that high on a few occasions and that was when the temperature was 50+ degrees hotter than it is in your pic and it was in stop and go traffic.

BTW all I have in my transmission is Valvoline. It has 168k miles on it and still shifts super smooth.
