2004 GP GT 3.8L (L26) replacing Lims

Ok I am confused on what to use I guess for the bolts.

I went to autozone today and ordered all my parts. The guy told me I need new grommets for when I replace my valve cover gasket. Said they only come in a pack of 4 so I need 2 packs at $10 a pack. are these needed to replace the gasket on my valve cover?

actually it takes 3 packs. 5 or 6 per side.
and the lim gasket will flatten out when the motor heats up, so you need to retoque it. if you use loctite, then your just locking the bolts where they were after the first torque.

so do i need the grommets? or are the old ones fine?
ok so if i dont use loctite do i use some other type of stuff on the bolts?
on the video of the guy doing his lim he never said or from what i saw replaced any gromets.

the grommets should come in a complete pack of 12.

FEL-PRO Part # ES72833

Fuel injector O-rings come in 4's.

FEL-PRO Part # ES71192 Set
Upper set; Injectors to fuel rail

FEL-PRO Part # ES71190 Set
Lower set; Injectors to cylinder head

You need two of both "sets" of the fuel injector o-rings.

use loctite if you want, but i would start the engine immediately after the first torque, let it run for 20 minutes, then retorque everything before the loctite sets,
and for Mary, mother of jesus, DONT USE RED LOCTITE!

You're supposed to put thread sealant on the bolts.

nothing else.

If you look at the bolts, some of them may still have some on them.

ok thanks guys for your responses. I found out antisseeze can be used. However GM uses a highh heat teflon paste. Only ones that would need it would be the bolts that go into a water jacket. But I am going to put it on them all. I figured for $5 for the paste was worth doing it right rather then having to re do it in the future.
The guy at autozone was stupid. The pic had 4 grommets in the pack so he thought there was only 4 in A pack, but it had 12.

lol, except i actually know how many are in a pack. bluegtp runs vr1 so that means he knows everything about cars.

Ok for anyone who would know, or works at autozone. Does the felpro ms 98014 t lim gasket set include the es 71190 upper fuel in jector o rings? Cuz I got six o rings and it doesn't say what they are for.
The description on the box says
Intake manifold
Intakemanifold - end seal
Water outlet
Water outlet
Oil filter adapter. What is this for??
Rtv black-tube
Heater inlet . Is this the thermostat gasket?
Map sensor o ring
But it doesn't say any thing about the 6 o rings I got with it is.
Thanks

lmfao. your hilarious. you use gtp heads for the top swap, and GT heads for THE SUPER SPORT KIT!!!!! omg you need the reading mod.

my super sport heads are awesome, thanks for asking. my 4.10 bonneville gear ratio is sweet as well, along with my 302 pontiac motor, and my factory L67 cutlass supreme. and my 05 LS1 GTO is a beast.

Just another quick stupid question, I don't have much time during the week so I figured I will try to work on something that won't take long. So I decided I might tackle my valve cover gaskets. If I change those would I need An oil change?

And still wondering if any one knew about fuel inject o rings being inside of my lim gasket set. Just curious what they are. Upper or lower or even if they are the fuel injector o rings.

Thanks

get the part number from the store and google it to see if it comes with them, and unless your car is running off of coal, your not going to need an oil change after the valve cover gasket replacement.
