2004 Comp G with odd hood scoops

id bet thats an early 03 pre-production car
i worked on a mod'd 04 compG that was built in 4/03. had 03/older ac compressor/thread together AC lines. alum pan/cast rods/die cast front cover.

it was as if they were scraping the bottom of the parts barrel

the car i was working on was intense's 04+ test car that they developed the gen5 IC setup for.

if its an early car it was probably one SLP used to develop em or at least display their wares

the first item on the car's autocheck report is an april 29 date with 67 miles, so maybe it was an early make like you say.

Its the factory GM high/tall spoiler. It was considered an upgrade, I always thought they were ugly. I do believe this was in the preproduction models, early comp g's.

Actually I remember now. It was the rare pace car spoiler. This might have been a pace car at one point or a showcase at the track kind of car.

Sorry to go off-topic a bit.

But, what could all be different on '04 models produced in early '03, and what was the earliest month of '03 that '04 model-years were made? My '04 was manufactured 03/03.

the earliest 04 I have ever seen was built in 10 / 02. Last digits of the VIN were 000146.
the car always had odd ****...rattles etc.
it's your standard pre-production nonsense. people are learning to assemble the new car so there are going to be problems they test drive the vehicles find the problems and then correct them and crush them. But every now and then one of the early cars is perfectly fine they will give that car to a tuner or a magazine reviewer.
I used to wrench on a 94 Buick regal built in 2/94...it had the "series II 3800" badge and a VIN K L36. it was not an OBD 1.5 car like you would expect. you had to input a 96 regal to get the snap on scanner to communicate. my guess is it was a test mule for the full obd2 conversion. and after they were done with it it was still in good enough shape that they sold it at auction in Michigan where dude got it

Hood looks like SLP to me, need a closer pic of those fender vents to be sure they are not one of's or some stick on sh$t. Tail pipes look like SLP as well. Being how rare that hood is I bet that car goes for asking regardless of the dent or anything else. IMO hood could fetch 2000+ alone to the right buyer

Wings west prototype spoiler?
Maybe its the folks that did the gp widebody flares/fenders. ...I can't remember the name of it but it's a small outfit
