2004 Comp-G Trans Rebuild?

Hey guys i just bought a 04 comp g with 150k for a steal. The Trans fluid is BLACK! I have a 00 Impala 3.29 rebuild trans with 20k on it. My question is will the impala trans work because the comp g has tap shift? Thanks!
 


Quick and simple answer is nope.

Different wiring and controls for the tap shift, different valve body too I think.

If the transmission still works fine, just leave the old fluid in it. Or suck out a few quarts and add some new stuff in with a bottle of lucas and drive it till it gives up the ghost.

Well my plan was to drop the pan. Put a shift kit in it. New filter and put some lucas in it. I dont think that will hold up when i pull the motor and drop my l32 xp cammed motor lol
