2004 Comp G stuttering?

I have a 2004 Comp G. 2 weeks ago i started having a problem. The car would run great, but when i would hit it to pass on the road, it would stutter and the check engine light would start flashing. As soon as i got around the car and went down back to speed, it would stop flashing and go out. So, i changed the plugs, wires and coils. Now it acts like it has no umph like it doesnt want to go and the check engine light is on constantly. Can anyone tell me what could be going on? I am at my wits end. THe car has 138k miles on it. Thanks all.

Sorry i don't have a scanner and we live 3 hours from the nearest town. I have been scanning the site since it started and thats why we changed the plugs, wires and coils. The car ran great except for the miss when we accelerated to pass cars. Now since everything was changed, it has no power and the light is on all the time. So far we have changed plugs, coils, wires, water pump and elbows (had a bad water leak) and the front exhaust manifold a couple months back. (It had a crack) It has ran great until just recently. Not so much as a miss until this started.

Well hubby took the coils off and put the old ones back on...Runs better, but how do we get the check engine light off? He wants to see if just the plugs and wires cured it or if something still pops up. THanks guys for the help you are giving.

You either have to run it the set amount of cycles before the PCM says its ok to turn the light off which varies between different codes. The only way to force clear it is to use an obdII scanner. Advance auto or autozone will let you use one for free

un hooking the battery for 30 minutes will clear the codes and reset the light, if it comes right back you still have a problem.

and make sure the wires are on right, 2 crossed wires and it will run almost right but not right if you know what i mean.
