2004 3.8L milky oil

Hello everyone, I'm James and this is my 1st pontiac grand prix, or anything with a 3.8L V6. Car has 180,000 with no previous issues.

Long story short the car got very hot due to a bad thermostat (I think) and now I have water in my oil. Can anyone point me in the right direction for diagnosing if it's a hg or IG please? This is my old transportation and I need to get it back on the road pronto. Thanks in advance for your help.

your lim gaskets failed most likely. dont run the engine with milky oil, you'll spin a bearing real fast.

is the oil overfilled now? higher the level, the more coolant in it.

I got it right on my third try. first two attempts were lazy half-ass attempts, on the third try, I didn't cut any corners. a high school kid on here got it done.

i remember when i did mine, for some reason i only put very little RTV between the lim gaskets and put my lim on/tightened down and put some water in it and water came out all 4 corners lol. Its simple. Just gotta do your research.
