2003 gtx

Ok guys, so I just bought this car. It's a GTx, and so far all I have gathered is that it is a GTP with a fiberglass ram air hood and a cat back exhaust. Anyone on here know any more about it? I'm actually having a hard time figuring out what the hell makes it different. Also, what kind of boost does it make? Any positive advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most come with the rims, hood, badges, intake box, and spoiler. My GTX came with all that plus the SLP headers and Catback as well as pulley, and rockers, and swaybars I believe.

Grand Prix GTX by SLP

SLP Pontiac Grand Prix

Basically, its just a hood, intake and catback exhaust. Though some might have got a 3.5in supercharger pulley over the stock 3.8

In reality it adds zero value to the car, but just another something different that GM did with another company.

Everything a GTX has, is on the aftermarket for anyone to buy.

I would disagree, I would say it definitely increases the value (private party / enthusiast value, not book) due to it being a lot more rare than a GTP, in the rare cases when they do show up on ebay they fetch much more than a same condition GTP.

It's only worth extra value if the potential buyer thinks it is. For someone like me...meh not worth it because its still just a Grand Prix so I would still offer the same price as I was a non GTX. Now if it was a lot cleaner then cars that are similar then I would potential pay more.

Remember mods don't add value..unless the buyer is willing to pay more for those mods.

It has the SLP tag under the hood. I didn't see one inside the door. Is there a way to run the vin and see exactly what has been done to my car?

I wasn't saying that my car was a priceless rare automobile. I just asked what made the GTX different from the GTP because I have one. I appreciate all the positive responses but don't understand why people get on here just to shoot people down. This forum is not a pissing contest. Its about talking with the people who love their cars as much as you do and being able to pick one anothers brain when it comes to general discussion or when in need of technical advice.

Take a few different pictures of the bay from different angles. Remove the oil cap and snap a picture of the rockers. Then if you can take a picture of the exhaust. Then we can probably tell you wht it has.
