2003 Grand Prix Trans Cooler Line Replacement

I have a 2003 Grand Prix 3.8 (K vin, no super charger) when I was changing the trans filter and replacing the leaking pan gasket I noticed oil on the air deflector. After further inspection I notice that the lines running to the trans cooler are leaking where the steel meets the rubber. One is leaking rather badly not sure if the other is leaking. I plan on replacing both since I already have to fill the trans.

My question is how do they connect to the trans and the cooler? It looks like they are just a hex nut with a flare or compression under it. Is that correct? Is there a trick to removing them? Anything else to watch out for while changing them?

Thanks for your help!

On the cooler line, at the end where it either goes into the transmission or the radiator, is a small clip. Grab a small angle pick and remove it, and don't lose it or you'll have to go buy a new one. Inside the fitting is a rubber o-ring and the line just slides over that untill, then the clips holds it from coming out.

They look like this.
