2003 gp gt tranny on a 2001 gp gt?

I just got a 2001 GP GT!! I was so excited since i have always loved the body style and know that the 3800 engine is a great engine.
Well my excitement ended when i drove the car in the highway and doing 65MPH i was at 3K RPM. I have a chance to get a 2003 parts car with leather interior and good tranny for $400 because it has no title and a blown headgasket. Will the tranny be a direct fitment?4th gear issue was corrected in the '03's right?

If you are swapping a GT for GT ...the trans will work. However, you will need to run the 03 PCM as well. Failure to do so will put your trans in limp mode..(only gears 1-2 will work).

If your swapping your GT for a GTP trans.. you will need to swap the differential and housing cover. Its only like 4 bolts..not hard to do at all.
 
Car is Not stolen! I called the DMV and gave them the vin# and its clean. The car was left in the property and has been 2 years since he purchased the house so now he is selling the car.

It is a Gt to Gt so it will bolt right up. After swapping the PCM is there anything ill additional that ill need to do?

Buy new trans mount, new fluids, check cv axles for wear etc...
 
I would go for it then. It would suck to buy the car that was used in a kid napping or murder ect. and then have to deal with the cops and ****.
 


Yeah, the no title was a concern until i called the dmv and checked. Will i need to flash the PCM? The '03 has 87K miles and after reading the '03's are not affected with the 4th going out, right?
Im excited about the leather interior am getting and it has new headlights too.
