2003 Buick LS Side view mirrors

I recently bought a 2003 Buick Regal LS and the previous owner stated that the side view mirror glass was "stolen" one night while parked at the airport. The problem is, I walked into O'Reilly's and ordered replacement's and sure enough it's just the generic glass with no mounting bracket attached, or at least what I believe to be needed in order to snap in. Basically there are 3 main "ball point male pins" that stick out, can someone direct me to the correct part that I may need? The glass is the only thing missing so if possible I just want something that attaches, instead of the full enclosure. I'm not sure off the top of my head if it's heated, but it definitely powered. Pictures can follow in the morning if needed for a better description.

Thank you in advanced.

is the plastic backing for the glass still there? the glass is glued on there, you re glue the new mirror on to it.

the 3 arms snap into the plastic the mirror gets glued to.

The plastic backing is not there. The replacement is just the glass and the enclosure is just the module that controls movement I would imagine.

that sucks. best to hit a junk yard and pop the glass out like some dick did to your car.

if its heated theres two wires with female ends in the mirror housing.

to get one off you pretty much push the mirror all the way to one side, stick your fingers behind the plastic and then slowly pop it off.

goes back on the same way but you need to push it back one firmly. easier to do with no glass on the plastic part, then rtv or silicon the glass on.

Thanks for the info Scottydoggs, I did look around and it seems like they only sell the full enclosure. I guess I might just have to call around and see if it's something I could just pull if it is in fact available.

Yup junkyard might be your best bet if all else fails.. Regals are usually plentiful here in the yard I could pull one for you

I am willing to pay any fees for purchasing and shipping if it is something that readily available, as driving to work 50 miles on the freeway round trip is kind of a PITA.

Edit* both driver and passenger.

little warning about red, he hates regals lol

but then again, hes gotten me some stuff at his local junk yard in the past. hes a A+ kinda guy, for a regal hater lol

I'm hoping $$ will sway his differences for the sake of another W-body owner :th_peaceout:

Really appreciate the quick responses though.

Just notice this was for a Regal... Sorry can't pull them lol

J/K I plan on stopping at the yard tomorrow I'll grab them then. So driver side and passenger mirror.. Do you mind taking a picture of what you have so I can make sure I get everything you need.. I had problems before where I would encounter mirrors that were mounted differently.

he just need the glass and the plastic part the glass is mounted to. push the mirror to the side so you can get your fingers behind it, then you kinda rip it off. if its heated theres two wires on the side bottom of one side, i dont recall what side any more.

iirc century and ls and gs and gse's all of em, same mirrors.

Is this good Red?

you need new mirrors. thats really broken looking.

ive taken mine a part before. had to buy a junk yard mirror, then swapped the guts from the jy mirror housing into my black housing.

what ^^ you should do or just replace the whole mirror.

you see the 3 or 4 Allen heads screws there, thats all that holds it to the housing, then the wires come up through a hole.

they come off the car the same as a gp, pop the inside plastic cover off, 3, 10 mm bolts, then you can pop the top corner of the inside door trim and reach in to unplug it.

Scotty, whatever you recommend is the most convenient; I am okay with. Really just hoping to get this completed asap, convenience when installing is a plus but not needed.

Edit* and Red, I am happy to compensate you for any extra effort needed when getting what is required.

Red, When you hit the yard for that mirror. Make sure it's a normal mirror with heat (aka not from Century) and not an autodimming. Because.. you know Regals had the option of autodimming exterior mirrors.

Thanks for the extra information Bill.

Red - per Scottys post it sounds like he suggests getting the full mounting point between the glass/plastic piece (that I'm missing) and the "guts" within the mirror in the picture shown I provided earlier. Hopefully he can stop by once more and give you a better description as I am having a hard time come up with the correct term for what is needed other than "guts" haha

Thanks again.
