2002 gtp dic problem

hi all,
just acquired a 2002gtp and the dic/ trip computer is barely visible. you have to get about 2 inches from it to be able to see any kind of display. it would be like dimming your instrument lights down to where you can barely see them lit.. the trac button works and trac light comes on ok, but the rest of the dic is unreadable. all other dash lights and dimmer work fine. checked all related fuses to the system and they are fine. also have the occaisional problem of getting the key out of the ignition, could this be related, considering everything seems to go through the ignition switch. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yup need new bulbs, if you can't replace them yourself there are people on the forum that know how, that's what I did after my bulbs burned out. I got blue LED's installed by a member here.
 
thank you all for your quick replies. haven't pulled the dic out of the dash yet to check the bulbs. hopefully its as simple as a bulb change. maybe i was just over thinking it, making it harder than it really is!!

update,
it turned out to be the ignition switch.
