Alright, some of you have seen my posts, havent posted much but i thought id upload some pictures of my 2001 sunfire GT with a 2004 impala series II SC swap

yeah it was for the 4 months i was driving it :P then this happened

aswell as a broken connecting rod that hit the block

Sunfires are ugly cars but at least it's fast! And a 5-speed! Not many on here can say they have 3800 sc power with a stick behind it!

getrag f23 :) stage 3 clutch and machined camaro flywheel, too bad the motor destroyed itself, and yes they are ugly but the only real noticable features are the headlights really, had it doing 190 in 4th at 5500 rpm

damn, that piston and rod will buff right out lol

was that a stock engine? or are there mods done to it? never seen a stock ran piston grenade so bad.

mainly stock, had a 180* thermostat, colder plugs, flashed and tuned pcm, biggest issue is that it was standard i think so i could rev it higher before shifting, but my pulley was stock and i only was running 8psi, had 109,375 miles or 175xxxkms, the broken piston still has the rod and wrist pin in the cylinder (#4) cylinder (#3) has a broken connecting rod but the head is till good

heres a small section of the crack, went all across the front and down in 2 sections where the oil pan meets the block

no if you read i said i was at 5500 when i was doing 190 or 118mph, the red line starts at 5700 in the sunfire tach so i didnt put it into red, it had a tick for 2 weeks, i only drove it 3 times in that 2 weeks and the third time was the charm, i was barely doing 15km/h when it grenaded, all i seen was smoke out the hids and when i tried to roll it over it just binded so i called a flatbed and got it towed 40km for $180....

never got the chance to find out, i wanted it to last till winter time/the week after it happened (aug 4th) cause i was gunna do a tear down/rebuild and bore but now its find a used motor and rebuild
