OK, A good friend of mine has/had a green 4 door 98 GT with about 250,000 on it, but it still looks pretty good and the A/c works--if a bit weak. I've fixed all manner of heat/air/plumbing For my buddy--as well as tuning his VTX1800 w/ power commander so that it almost runs with my 919--as a result he told me the car is mine if I want it. Anyway, it appears as though the forward band broke on his trans, so he gave me the car. I'm hoping I can use much of the A/c sys. off his gt on my GTP, but I haven't researched the matter so I could be totally wrong. In any event, I've got room to park it while I take parts off it. I don't have the car "home " yet, but once I do, I'd like to take pics of what looks good on it and offer up whatever parts I dont use to anyone here that needs them. I'm certainly NOT trying to make a buck--I'd much rather see someone in need get parts that will help them keep their own ride alive. That said, I know I want to keep the wheels, most of the AC system--assuming it works on my 01 gtp, and some other bits I anticipate a need for in the near future.
If anyone can shed light on AC swapability, that would be wonderful, also, once I get the car-in the next month i hope, I would gladly share photos with anyone that needs parts. I think you can PM me if you want to receive photos/details once I have the car, or emailme if that doesn't fly >jmb1108@yahoo<....(dotcom afterwards btw). Aside from what i've rambled so far, the motor -3800GT, actually runs well and uses no significant oil between 5000mile changes. the interior is black and isn't torn up, it has HUD, and the body is unmolested-wrecked other than a cracked rear bumper cover.
Any words of wisdom or requests for parts are welcomed--but please know I may not take possession of the car for a month or maybe more. Thanks to all! Mike
