Hello everyone, I wanted to ask a question. I just bought a Grand Prix GT 4 door with 89000 miles. The guy I bought it off of said he changed the thermostat the same day I bought it. He said he spilled coolant on the engine and he was going to clean it up but didn't have time. Anyways, the car was smoking when it was being driven, but the temperature was staying under half temp. Everything works on the car, though, such as heat. So do you think the engine in burning off the coolant that he spilled? I checked the car and there were no leaks. The car has all maintenance records and is in mint condition. Spotless interior and engine bay, no rust. I will load a picture later today.

If he spilled coolant all over and around the engine ya i'm sure it'll burn it off when you drive. Let it cool off, clean out all the coolant you can, then see if the problem persists over the next day or so

I have coolant on my engine a little bit too from my LIM replacement. Stinks a little but it will eventually burn off and stop smoking.
