2000 gtp TCC release switch not applied

my 2000 gtp is making a ticking noise but goes away after driving for a little while. I took it to auto zone to check out the service engine light and I got 2 codes. first one was p1887 an its saying the ECM has determined that the TCC is not applied but the TCC slip speed indicates that it is either 1-open or short circuit condition, 2-failed trans fluid pressure/manual valve position switch, 3-internal transmission fault. the second code was p0141 which is the H02s12 heater condition (heated oxygen sensor-bank 1 sensor 2). the powertrain control module monitors the oxygen sensor heater. the computer has recognized a failure in the circuit. which is caused by 1-faulty H02s12 (bank 1 sensor 2), 2-poor connection at oxygen sensor, or 3-circuit fuse. the ticking has gotten a little worse over the past month an I was wanting some insite on what I should do any help would b VERY appreciated.
 


my car starts right up no problem an ticking gets louder the harder I press on the gas but when I release the gas pedal the ticking goes away or at least quits enough for me not to be able to hear. any information would b great thanks for reading
 
those codes dont sound like they have anything to do with the ticking, can you hear what area of the motor the ticking seems to come from
 
seems to be under the throttle body or around it..top right corner of the cover going over the engine im pretty sure its the throttle body right there but my main concern is the TCC not being applied. been reading a lot about it and some seem to b major an some seem to b real minor..the performance of my car isn't really effected by it yet but trying to fix it before something bad happens. any ideas would b great
 


either the harness to the trans has worn through and is grounding out or the tcc switch is bad those would be my guess based off what your saying, the ticking is something all its own and the 02 sensor 2 is the post cat sensor, probably shot but also not needed anyway
 
Does it sound like a lifter tick or maybe a rod bearing about to go out? Might wanna check it out at a shop before you go hammering down on it anymore!!!!
 
I know shops here in Wichita ks are charging 85$ a shop hour so figure a little now for them to test if its a knock or lifter tick that's free

If you're talking about the TCC switch, it's probably something you'd bring to a shop, although I believe it can be accessed through the side cover which requires the subframe to be dropped a few inches.

Onto the o2 sensor, it can be a DIY job depending on how much it will take to get the old one out. Some weld themselves on with heat and rust, so an oxy/acc torch may be needed. You can always get under there and try breaking it loose yourself, if you can't get it, take it somewhere.

Onto the ticking, if you can determine it's in the engine and itn't a rod knock, you can try running some sea foam through the engine oil on the last 100 miles before an oil change to see if that will clear any varnish or deposits that may be restricting oil flow or something.
 


From the sound of your description..and follow ups (which gave a lot of good info, I'm almost about to not post and you'll diagnose it in the next couple days the way you were going..lol)

Ticking is likely an exhaust gasket leak. Your description is what nails it.
The trans codes for the manifold pressure and TCC etc.. Sounds like you want to check that wiring. If it's not the wiring, then you are having some trans issues that'll require a reasonable amount of work. Most shops would automatically aim for a different trans or a rebuild.
