Cross over and line driver are here, looks GREAT. As always, I have some upgrading to do to it. I found 9 op amps in there so I'm going to upgrade those, and hopefully I'll be able to upgrade them to Burr Browns, hehe.
With cover:
Without, It'll get new op amps for sure, and I'm sure I'll be swapping in better caps, along with some filtering caps.

The DHL man also came today and dropped off the Android head unit. I got to play with it a bit before work and one word. Awesome. It's got a **** ton of potential, and even out of the box it's awesome. I need to track down my Bluetooth dongle so I can try and set up torque. I'm excited about this thing!

I'm learning more and more about this android head unit. I assumed it would be a bastard step child of a cell phone and a head unit, and it is, but not how I expected. Everything is run through an MCU, and it dictates how the bluetooth and wifi work. Long story short, no torque pro via bluetooth or wifi, but I believe it is possible via usb...we'll find out. last night I rooted and updated it, along with tinkering with it...a LOT. I might install it tomorrow, I might now. We'll see. I have the amp, install kit, sub amp, and crossover, so I think I'll go ahead and install everything tomorrow. I can always pull the crossover back out when the op amps get here. Today I picked up some new trunk shocks, and oh yea...THESE:
Picked them up for $600, and after working a deal with my friend, I paid $300 out of pocket. I also still end up with a set of torque stars to get rid of.

Chinese Knock off of a Ca-Fi. AN-21 U is the Model number I reference it by, but it's unbranded, lol. Here's a Wiki on it:

I have only gotten to play with it for about 3 hours and so far it's really cool. Fast, responsive, plenty of customization, all kinds of stuff. I need a hub and a usb to OBD2 adapter (wifi and bluetooth don't work yet), it'll get a lot more cool when that comes in. Tonight I'm probably mess with it more and try to get it ready to install tomorrow. For now I rigged it up to an old laptop charger I had that's 12v, so I don't spend hours on end setting it up while it's installed in the car.

New rims are on and I took her for a wash. She really looks good, I'm impressed with these rims. The tires are a bit on the noisey side, but not too bad...I had Falkens before so they're hard to beat. Now I just gotta get the exhaust finished, once my headers get here of course. Head Unit is coming along, I have FINALLY gotten Poweramp to install, so now I just need to get it to start on startup, as well as start playing where it left off when it powers on. Then I need to mess with the video player, everything is at the wrong aspect ratio on the stock player, so I need another video player. Anyways, pics!

I'm up in the air (no pun intended) on the whole lowering subject. It does look 4x4 status in person, but not as bad as the pics make it look. Thing is I basically live in the country with dirt roads and such, so I don't want to destroy my car. I hear Vogtlands ride pretty good, with only a .5-1 inch drop, so that might be an option down the road. They've got 245\45\17s on them now.

Short of that and a few items that should be here by the end of the week (back up camera, usb to OBD2 cable, and usb hub), it's ready to go in. I actually just cut the center piece out of my bezel, it LOOKS like everything will fit nicely, but I'll make it prettier once everything is installed and finalized. Bad news is my Kappa speakers for the front doors never got shipped, until today...guess there was a "shipping error." So because of that, the front doors are the only things that won't be getting done this weekend. I should be installing it on Sunday, but the high is 35 degrees, so that'll be nice.

Tell me about it, I've only wanted headers since the day I bought the car...and the day I replaced the motor...and the day I drove it after I replaced the motor...need I go on? I'm still shocked at the amount of $ I've had to put into the exhaust so far. $100 shipped for headers and $50 for 2 Borlas with tips. All I need now is a resonator and to have a Y pipe and the rest of the exhaust built.

Well thanks to Mother Nature and my bad back this project is taking a bit longer than expected, lol. Originally we were going to work all day Sunday and have it done, but so far We've worked 4 hours on Saturday, about 6 hours today, and still have more to go. The weather has been the biggest time consumer, we have my car pulled into my shed and space is TIGHT and I'm a big guy... Anyways, so far we have the Front speakers installed minus the crossovers (but the wire is run to the crossover's locations). I ended up having to mount the tweeters on the dash because these things are HUGE, bigger than a silver dollar. Both speaker wires are run up the passenger side, both crossovers are in the dash, by the glove box, and the driver-side's speaker wires are run across the top of the dash undder the HUD trim panel. We also have the power wire run, connecting it to the side post of the battery was fun, I had to grind the post's bolt down to make room for the wire's connector. Dash is basically ready for the head unit, although I need to actually bolt the headunit in...which involves me bending some metal up and screwing in some self-tappers. Both RCAs are run to the trunk, along with the sub control wire, remote wires, and power wire. In the trunk, I have some of the amps hooked up, but I haven't mounted them yet. I want to make sure all the wires reach so I'm going to mount them after they're all connected.
Cliff Notes: Life sucks because I have a small building and it's f*cking cold, but all I have to do is install the head unit, crossover, connect the 6x9s, put the sub in, and bolt everything down. Here's some pics:

Just askin, but you do know that they sell a replacement stud for side mount batteries that has a threaded accessory stud, so that you can just install the positive cable as usual, and while cable is on you just take nut off of threaded post, put a ring terminal on the end of your wire, and put it in and tighten down. I actually ran across these while trying to hook stuff up to my battery. Dang sure beats having to modify stock setup, or buy a side and top post battery. They are actually made for stereo equipment, but can be used for anything needing power. Anyway, just couldn't help but wonder as I read through there if you knew about em? If your wondering, they're like 8 bucks.

Nothing local to me has them in stock, and is was like 6 degrees outside, so I made do, lol. This works fine, it was just tedious to do, and I still ahve plenty of clearance from the stuff to the engine, radiator neck, etc. Thanks for the suggestion though, if this setup ever gives me any problems I'll be buying one of those for sure. On the top post battery, they don't carry them in 3 year warranty's at O-Reilly's or Walmart. I live in a small town (less than 3000 people) so I have limited resources around me, lol.
