2000 GTP: Still Alive! New Trans?

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

Progress...

This is mostly temporary, I just have them taped together so I can see which wires need extending, shortening, etc. This is how I plan to run the wires, I just need some high temp electrical tape.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

Thanks! Wiring is done, I just need to wrap it all in the high-temp electrical tape. Supercharger is done (as you can see), and fuel rail has been cleaned\painted. So literally, I just wrap everything up, and put it all back together.

This is just the first stage of the wire tuck, I still have the transmission\brakes\traction control to tuck, and the fuse box\battery to tuck. That's not happening anytime soon, I only did this part because I wanted to get something extra done, and the supercharger was off.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

You said your extending wires so you can hide it all?

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

I only had to extended one set of wires, the injector wires for cylinder 6. I grouped the TB sensors, ECT, EGR, and EVAC wires together and ran those under the driver side dog bone, and then grouped everything else, Alternator, all 6 injectors, MAP sensor, 02 Sensor, speed sensor, etc. and ran those under the passenger side dog bone, under the S\C snout, and under the alternator. I'm also changing the oil and resealing the rear exhaust flange with high temp rtv.

That will look clean! Mind me asking an off topic question, shifting into 3rd gear and sometimes fourth, I can feel the car move when it shifts and hear the rpm's shift like and the car jerks as the rpm's move, could that he a bad trans mount? Just ride in my buddies gp and his didn't move at all but sounded the exact same

It could be, I'd start by checking the mounts since it's performing okay, just making a noise. Does it clunk when you shift from reverse to drive or anything like that?

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

When I put it in drive and hold y foot on the brake, I can feel it change pretty good

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

Well, this is frustrating, but good at the same time. I got it all put back together, and had an injector leak, so it ate some paint off. Luckily, it was cylinder 2, so it wasn't very noticeable. Fixed that. Now I have 3 codes, a P0206 (Injector 6 circuit), A MAF sensor code, and a pending code for the ECT. I decided to go after the injector 6 code first, and it's irritating. Wires all seems fine, I pulled the electrical tape back to my solder joints (8 inches or so), checked for voltages, grounds, and continuity, all was fine. Then I noticed the 4 inches of the rear valve cover gasket hanging out, and was pouring oil out. Injector 6 went on the back burner, and apart the engine came. I have it all pulled apart now, and will be reassembling after dinner. I used to have the rear most engine hoist mount on the engine and removed it during this project, so it must have opened up the leak a lot. If it's not one thing, it's another. pics to come later.

Honestly you should just buy your self some conduit that way the job not only looks more professional but many will think it is factory.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

On some of it I am, especially the section by the crossover. That was was only to check lengths, etc. They still ended up too short, lol. I'll deal with it though once it's running right.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

Just finished, and it seems to run great, I still have it up in the air because I'm going to change the oil in the morning. One thing I find concerning though, my LTFTs are at 16.4 when I'm at idle now. Hopefully it will relearn everything and that will drop down some. I checked everything I could find and there aren't any vacuum leaks that I can find. Anyways, pics tomorrow. Sleep now.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

make sure to check your spark plug gapping, I just finished my XP cam and Gen V swap and my gapping on the plugs was giving me misfires, they are gapped at .45 now and its running real smooth :)

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

I've got iridiums in there now, so I can't really check the gap without breaking one (I tried). They are basically new, I changed them with the engine about 1300 miles ago. It seems to run fine, no misfires show on Torquepro or anything, just that 16.4% LTFT. I did swap the MAF sensor with another I have, so if I check everything tomorrow and it stays at 16.4% then I'll swap back to the other MAF and go from there.

On side note, I figured out I need both front wheel bearing replaced. yay.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

I had to do all the hubs on my car not too bad, have you checked ur MAP sensor? Map sensor tends to act up on idle if its not working properly .

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

It's connected and all, I did relocate it during the tuck, but I didn't have to cut any wires or anything. It is still registering vacuum on torque pro though. I'll double check everything on it tomorrow while I wait for oil to drain, and have sun light.

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

sounds like a plan , nothing better than a new day and a little bit of light:)

Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)

Here's a pic, it runs and runs pretty damn good, just need to do some cleaning on the engine, but I got rained out. It didn't come out as good as I had hoped, but it's a hell of a lot better than before, and this was only my first time.

Now I need to figure out whats going on with my sub. MAJOR farting sound coming from it, but it only happens when I plug the RCAs into the sub preout of my head unit, if I plug it into the front or rear preout, all is well. Then noise seems to change if I move the head unit around while it's playing, so I'm going to start checking connections there.
