2000 GTP Needs some advice

My son has a 2000 GTP. We replaced the engine before the recall with a Jasper. Just replaced that with a used engine with 78,000 mi from EverDrive. Before you scold me, the oil was changed religiously as wes all other maintenance. It's running great! Pontiac is looking into whether or not they will help out with the engine replacements since the recall was never fullfilled on the original, even though the issue was identical to the recall - it just occured before the offical recall. Hope springs eternal!

I have put other "routine" money in this vehicle and hope that it will last a few more years - it now has 107,000. I would like to get it as close to original as possible. It is a great ride and Justin and I both love it.

The HUD doesn't work right It is intermittent and dull when it works. Mechanics have suggested it is too expensive to repair, but it seems like it might not be that bad since it does work occasionally.

Any suggestions about the HUD? Do you think I am crazy to keep putting the money in it, or am I making a "wise" investment?

One vote for "wise investment", but I'm probably biased as I have two of them with my son looking to add a third to the fleet in the next year. They are an excellent car that has decent power and can get excellent milage if driven correctly.

As far as the HUD problem, check E-Bay for a used one or call Ed Morad.

There's a thread around somewhere about pulling it and re-soldering a connection and I've tried that with the HUD in my '98 and it worked for a couple of weeks then returned to flickering. Next step is a used one from one of the two sources above.
