2000 Daytona 500 With pics

Picked up this 2000 Daytona 500. "The Unicorn"

182714 kms on her.
Paid $3100.00 for it. Extremely clean, no wheel well or rocker rot at all. Passenger rear tower is immaculate yet driver rear tower has some surface rust in the trunk. Will need to keep an eye on it.

I Love this car, although it doesn't have the Bose/onstar package and I find that bizarre. Is that possible? I thought you needed the bose on a trim level like this.

UPGRADES/MAINTENANCE SINCE PURCHASING:
1.) LIM Gasket & Aluminum coolant elbows
2.) Complete coolant flush
3.) New upper plenum gasket (SC)
4.) Both valve cover gaskets and grommets

Sold the anniversary. DDing the poor Daytona.

With that kind of mileage, I'd be kinda meh about the price, but that's your personal call.

Looks clean considering the age/mileage...and the fact it's a WBody.

Engine is leaning a bit to the right, probably needs a trans mount or something over there...also looks like a smaller pulley by chance? Hopefully there isn't any damage.

Normal GTPS with 200,000+ kms are moving for a minimum of $2500.00 bucks up here. I think the price is really good considering the shape its in.

The picture makes it look like it's leaning badly.

Mechanic said it was almost empty. Drained and replaced. She's blowin cold.

He said they pressurized it up and it held so hopefully no leaks.

Time will tell!

Oh you think thats bad GPs are going for $1500+ over blue book value around here. See my post in the Craigslist thread.

Every time I fire it up the coolant light stays on for about 5 seconds and disappears. It never shows up again until I turn the car off and fire it up.

Also, my temperature stays very cool. I've never had a Prix that ran this cool.

I'm full of coolant in the rad and at the full cold line overflow.

Bad sensor? I know I have to do the lim. It's not leaking or looking bad. Waiting for the long weekend to tear her apart. Just bugs me.

If it bugs you that much don't wait for long weekend. Taking your time with cleaning up the heads and every bolt you are talking maybe 4-5 hrs all said and done.

I also have headers and a down pipe I'm going to be installing. I've down dozens of lims but never wrestled with headers before!

I picked up a set of TOG headers with crossover and grabbed ZZP's TOG downpipe. Stuff has been sitting in a box for a year now along with a tune. Just haven't had time lol.

That's as hot as my car runs. This is after 1.5 hours of highway driving. Usually my prixs run smack dab in the middle of the 88 and 100 *
Odd to anyone else?

Ill check over everything this weekend, maybe even start pulling it apart. Back to driving the 40th for a while.
Gas is overrated.
