20 PSI of boost!!!!????

yes, 20 psi of boost at 5700 rpm shift. i took it back down to a 5200 rpm shift and im hitting 15psi. still to much id say. im running a 3.1 and a intense stage 1 cam. gen 3, headers, no cat, no u bend, borla cat back (2.5), and stock injectors. but im not running lean, so i dont think fuel is the problem. im thinking it may be timed wrong. but it holds a pretty steady vac and doesnt run bad. i didnt install the cam. so i wasnt there to double check it at the time. feels a little slow for all my mods. im thinking it might be off a tooth or something. also it hit 1-2 KR on 100% 110 race fuel. anything it could be other than the timing?

i need help quick, woodward is less than a week away!

That is a crap ton of boost out of a m90

are you still running stock pcm or has the car been tuned? that might affect the timings, fuel ratio, things like that but i wouldn't think it'd give that much boost tho :th_shakinghead2:

it has been tuned. lots of times lol but that reading of 20 psi at 6500 rpm is from my boost gauge. not from a scanner.

you might have alot of carbon build up on either the exhaust ports or intake manifold ports. This would restrict the flow and cause excessive boost. Or could be your gauge is not working properly.Try and run a scan to see what numbers your getting off boost.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Brand new motor. 700 miles on it. Try again.

6500rpm shift points? Please tell me you arent tuning this car.

Your pulley is too small by a size or two. If you are getting knock on 110 then you are doing something wrong.

Your shifting kinda high for a 3800 for one. Any SES lights? Sure you don't have a faulty BBV or something? X2 what was said above...maybe you need some serious tuning work.

you're jumping the gun, why not start simple.? check how the boost gauge is hooked up. it takes all of opening the hood.
