The one kid here ran e85 and a 2.8 with only injector upgrade. In sure you know who
You know I never did find the "max timing advance ceiling" for the 3800 ignition tables.
Did the GenIII or GenV question get answered? Doesnt make a difference as far as machining the snout goes, but is an important factor...
Either way, dont run that much timing... its not worth the risk. If you're running e85, think boost before timing. But that's just me...
The cylinder pressure spikes during a knock event are way higher than due to increased timing. 20* with knock is way more dangerous than 24* without.
I ran 24* all last year with the E85. I tried back to back to back runs last fall. 16* to 20* picked up 1 mph, 20* to 24* picked up another 1.5 mph.
I do understand that at 24*, if something goes wrong and it knocks, the result will be more severe.
^ sweet, all my pics are still there too
